Search Engine Traffic To A SQUEEZE PAGE - Can I Do It?

INTERNET MARKETING

I basically have sites ranking well but not converting that great, what I'd LIKE to do is have them come from the SE's and read a good page or two that answers their question somewhat and encourages them to grab a free report or ecourse for more info, placing this form at the bottom of the page... can this work?

I don't want it "above the fold" as people coming straight from Google will likely just click away if the first thing they see is some form asking for their email.

If you put the squeeze page on the front of the site and links at the bottom of the squeeze page into the rest of your site, Google should have no problem with it.

As far as having your optin below the fold - why?

If your offer is VERY good and targeted EXACTLY to the traffic you are driving to it - you would probably be better off being straight with your visitors and not trying to "hide" the fact that you have something to offer them.

Hmm alright, I just feel they might be info seekers that could be talked into an opt-in but might not be ready right away, I'm considering this though.

So I guess what I want to know is if an overall DOMAIN has enough content, can a pretty bare bones squeeze page rank #1 for decent keywords?
