Best way to monitize a new site?

We just launched internetfavorites . net and right now we have a few very small single line Google ad's on the site. I don't want to overwhelm the members with BS advertising... do you think inline ads would be OK?

By the way just found this site... great forum.

I don't think peolpe are waitng for an online bookmark manager to be honest. There are allready lots of those services and to suceed you really need to have a thing that sets it apart.

But your main concern like with any new site is traffic. Social networking seems fit, the design is fresh and modern of the site.

So what sets your site apart from all those other bookmark services like digg, delicous, etc.

you can offer premium features or use related CPA offers, or promote related software from regnow software affiliate

Well for one were not a social bookmarking service. This is a straight up online bookmark manager. It's simple and looks great. I am not looking to get rich, I have plenty of other sites that I do very well on. To be honest I had my developers build this because I didn't like any of the others. I figured what the hell though I might as well monetize it.

Woa, well that was much better than I expected. Is there a bookmarklet for this service? There should be, and if it exists why isn't it in a more user friendly location? I really like the service, and I'm actually going to start using it. That's an awesome concept because if you've been working online for any length of time you know that bookmark organization is terrible. Also, I'd be cool if you could automate the process of importing bookmarks.

After you improve it a little I seriously suggest you pay to get it listed on Makeuseof. This is probably the only thing on this forum I've only sent to people.

I mean, this is what Internet Marketing should be. Someone or group of people create something people actually want but don't have, and after it's up and running the worry about monetization. That's the proper way of doing it, congrats on getting it right.

If I were you I'd grow the user base more before you monetize it. Because you submit this to social media websites you're going to turn some of them off, so if you've got a choice hold off till it gets rolling.

maybe you could make it so when people open their bookmarks using your site, the bookmarks actually open in an Iframe on your site, and above the iframe you can have contextual adsense ads that are based off of the site they are looking at? Just a thought

Start with adsense first. I also think contexual adsense links are best.

Agree, adsense first. You could also try with a few affililate text links or maybe even banners.
