How to develop a maniacal obsession?

This is a question for all you friends here who are well researched in self-help materials, law of attraction, success systems, etc.

I want to develop a maniacal obsession to a goal or mission. The kind where you are really obsessed, you love to get this thing done, you almost need little or no sleep, it keeps you up at night, you're on a roll, you work 16-18 hours and your friends & family are all worried but you really are on the FLOW, you're happy not just for the possible rewards of what you're doing but happy because of what you're doing now. (Hypomanic Edge)

I saw this ebook guide included in Brian Kumar's WSO. I'm going to read that. But if you know other materials, please share them.

Thanks

Perhaps we should keep in the realm of psychology and not delve in altering brain pathways through the use of chemicals regardless of the efficacy of such methods. For example, altering human behavior through cognitive behavioral therapy, creative visualization, or even subscribing to a belief system, so powerful, it changes how one views himself at a very fundamental level.

Obsession is rooted from a burning desire. If you read Chapter 2 of Think And Grow Rich it talks about how to develop a burning desire. Read it online free, just Google think and grow rich chapter 2.

Actually, I'm going to do that - review the book and post a quick list here on how to have that burning obsession. I also have the ebook called Secrets in the book Think & Grow Rich.

      Thanks

Read the Game Of Live and How to Play It, by Florence Scovel Shinn. You can read it for free on Google Books. It was written about 75+ years ago but is still extremely relevant. She talks about how to focus the energy of your sub-conscious, conscious, and super conscious minds, to get out of life what you want.

Beyond having the proper mindset, seeing some kind of success in the short term always helps keep you super motivated for the long term. If someone is trying to lose weight or get fit, it's much easier once they see the changes in the mirror or start getting compliments from friends.

In whatever you are trying to do, once in awhile take a step back and look at what you've accomplished so far. Take pride in your effort, and don't be afraid to show off a little, even if it's just your baby steps on to something greater!

Also take a look at the section on Sexual Transmutation, in Hill's book.

He uses that because the sexual drive is one of the strongest forces in humans.

But, you can use any other dominant force/emotion in your life and transmute that into what you want, or where you want.

You're basically re-directing energy/force from one place into another. Very powerful (and useful) stuff once you get the hang of it.

    Bryan

PS. Something to keep in mind though... if you get to a point where you're going on little sleep and can't think or do anything else, you've probably gone too far. And other areas of your life (including health) could take a toll.

So you gotta be able to learn to turn it on and off when you want. It can be done, with practice. One of the keys is to learn to be aware of the present moment. (When you're working, you're focused on mostly work. When you're playing with your kids, you're focused mostly on that and not worrying about work or bills, etc. Again, very powerful once you start practicising it.)

    Listen to all 6 parts

I watched this show in the early 90's when it was on PBS. I recorded it on my VCR and watched it again and again until the tape wore out. It was one of the things that took me from making just barely 5 figures a year to making 6 figures a year.

    You gotta be hungry!
