Thanks for that great tip Scott.

I shall test it out next time I post an article.

    indeed they did

We're back with another quick 2-minute tip!

This video series is meant to give you tips for getting your articles approved on the first submission every time. We looked back at submission records to find common reasons why articles aren't approved initially. Then, we compressed that information into individual 2-minute videos to save you time.

Anchor text is any word or group of words that is an active link to a webpage. Anchor text stands out from the rest of the text because it is blue in color and underlined.

Integrating anchor text links into your articles is a great way to connect readers to more information about your topic.

In this video, I share the ninth tip, "Monitor Anchor Text."

    Downloadable Versions:

Here's a quick recap of the ninth "2 Minute Approval Tip" for those of you who don't have two minutes to spare:

Articles of 400 Words or Fewer - Shorter articles can have a maximum of 3 words in an anchor text link.

Articles of More Than 400 Words - Longer articles can have a maximum of 5 words in anchor text links. No matter how much value you provide in an article, we won't accept anchor text links that are more than 5 words.

Build a Better User Experience - Anchor text can make the inclusion of outside resources seamless in the article. By providing high-value content and giving additional places to find out more through anchor text links, you can give a really solid user experience.

Anchor Text vs. Hyperlinked Text - Anchor text is different from hyperlinked text in that hyperlinks display the full web address being linked (Ex. anchor text: "Watch other '2 Minute Approval Tips' by clicking here." vs. hyperlinked text: "Check out the entire '2 Minute Approval Tips' video series by visiting: http://EzineArticles.com/videos/2-minute-approval-tips/").

Exception to the Rule - There are exceptions to almost every rule. In this case, some small words are exempt from the anchor text word count, like: to, is, in, on, it, and, at, by, etc. Remember, the determination of whether there is too much anchor text is made with many factors in mind - length, uniqueness and value all play a role.

With respect - that is nothing to do with getting articles "approved faster" - just a tip for making sure that your article is approved rather than rejected.

    They didn't say that, Scott.

They didn't say that in the text they sent you, and they didn't say it in the video-tip they sent you, and they didn't say it on their blog, and they didn't say it to anyone else, either.

Read it again. Watch the video again. What they said related to how to get articles approved without getting them rejected, not about how to get them approved faster. Surely you can see that this is a very different thing?

If you are used to getting multiple rejections, I suppose getting accepted the first time is faster...

    Scott,

Are you telling us that if your article is full of grammatical syntax errors, has an affiliate link and links to a PLR site but it has anchor text, EZA will ignore the quality and approve it because of the anchor text?

    I disagree with you.

despite good quality people still complain about there articles taking to long to approve, of course an article with poor grammar won't get approved if other factors are in place,i have seen some articles with bad grammar slip through the cracks over at ezine, recently to.

I think article directories prefer articles with sources.

I wish the OP was the case with all article submission approvals, the anchor text won't help get anything approved in a shorter timeframe. As said above by Alexa.

lol this is bull. I've ALWAYS used anchor text in my articles and it ALWAYS takes a good few days to get approved. How the hell will they approve your article in two minutes if they have to manually review each article?

What's the point of using EzineArticles if you don't add (anchor text) links into the bio? I've always used anchor text in the bio for my articles, never had an article approved in a couple of hours.

MrDay, I did. It was 1 article that got approved in just 1 hour, and it was the last article I submitted, and I still had a few pending articles.

Maybe their system throws up new articles occasionally right to the front of the queue.

I used it as a throwaway line further up, but it's the point of the exercise. Using anchor text will not get your article approved faster. Using proper anchor text will help you get accepted the first time through. Which is considerably faster than getting rejected, making changes, and submitting again (and again and again and again...)

glassextreme, where did you put your anchor text to get approved in 1 hour? Is it in the resource box or at the bottom of article body?

Joshua, the entire thread is based on a misunderstanding.

Anchor text will not affect the approval-time for your articles, I promise.

Yeah everybody puts anchor text in resource box. That's the point. Doesn't affect anything. You will be approved depending on what kind of publisher you are. When you're first starting out it will be around 7 days depending on submission amounts.
