Redirect Page Indexed in Google?

I've just seen something which has confused me slightly <- not hard =)
I was doing a search for a product earlier, came across a page which looked good, meta description was compelling as was title tag, so I clicked.
Lo and behold, I was then immediately redirected to Amazon, thinking, wha? How did that happen?!
Is this some sort of whatever hat method to sprinkle affiliate links about Google? Surely they don't like it much?
Very intriguing. Has anyone heard of this?
