Recurring Commission...Should I have it on my membership site?

How does most of the membership site pay their affiliates? A one time commission or recurring commissions?

Would you be more willing to promote a membership site if there is a 40% recurring commission per sale?

I wouldn't know statistically what percentage of membership sites pay recurring commissions, but all other things being equal a long-term recurring commission is going to be more attractive to promote. We all want money drip-dripping into our account on a residual basis if possible, once we've done the hard work.

The only drawback I see is that most membership sites (no offence!) are NOT going to be around forever, so it's not like they will be paying me a pension 50 (erm, oh, wait, 30 ) years down the road!

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

The recurring commission feature will attract much more affiliates than one time commissions. It also depends on the price...i.e 40% of what? $20? $97?

    Hi,

You need to consider your offering from an Affiliate perspective, so in reality they want ongoing commission at highest possible level.

In addition, don't forget that you are in competition with other marketers who may naturally offer 50%...who are they going to choose, noting the limited time and customers they have?

    HTH?

Give and it will be given unto you.

We all want on-going income. Jack up the commission to 50% or more, reoccurring, and you won't have problems with generating traffic.

Reward your affiliates well, and you will never lack for money.

    • No affiliate in their right mind would promote a membership site for a one-time commission. At least not if there are 2 or more choices in the same niche. Better pay recurring, that way your affiliates be happy and hopefully stick around when you launch your next site, and the next one
