Dishonest Marketing - How Do You Feel?

Ya, the above example is fraudulent and you had the right reaction. Sadly there are MANY WSOs here (many with rave reviews) that advocate this same criminal activity.

I am very glad to hear that there are honest people out there and honest money to be made.

that is just want i am tired off. most products released on clickbank have turned

"Advertising" is just another word for "lying" to most people.

So when they need to advertise... they reason that since they never believe what an ad says anyway, expecting it to be completely full of lies, it's perfectly fine to fill it up with a bunch of lies.

These people don't last, usually. When they do, they tend to change their approach. But there are always new people with these ideas entering the field, so it seems like there are just so many of them.

Look at it this way, if you want the easy way out than yea you can lie, and deceive your audience by suckering them to purchase your $10 product that promises them a five figure monthly salary. In the end you would be giving yourself a bad reputation and tarnishing your name, hence ruining your long term business.

Sure you could create complete BS sales letters and promote CPA offers on how you tried this pill and had amazing results, etc. basically Blowing Smoke.

Or you could sustain a long term profitable business with a loyal audience and visitors to your site by providing them valuable, honest information. Look at many of the top blogs as an example, they provide high quality beneficial content that helps their visitors, hence their visitors trust them, are loyal to them, and will buy from them.

Sure it's a long term strategy but it's a winning strategy if you would like to build a long term profitable business.

Same concept applies when using White vs Black Hat traffic/SEO strategies. In the end the White HaT will always win.

Every time you click on something that says free and it sends you off to opt in or sales page you are dealing with a liar on the other end of the transaction.

Desperate people do dishonest things. The very position these people are in should make you not want to emulate them. You can do better than that.

In the IM world as in the IRL world there will always be people that try to take advantage of someone else to get a quick buck because they're still too imature to understand the implications of what they do and what might happend to them if they keep doing them. I guess just as long as there's people who believe con artists, con artists will keep existing.

Just play by the rules, be safe, and you will be just fine.

I think the issue of overzealous advertising tends to go through cycles, and we seem to be entering one of the peak periods. As competition increases in a business area (niche), the advertising tends to use more agressive techniques. Unfortunately, there are some advertisers that will go overboard, and then another group that feels they have to match grandiose claims to compete, and it just escalates.

Some of the advertisers caught up in this didn't do it on purpose, but got caught up in the frenzy. Unfortunately, there are some that routinely do everything they can to obscure what they are selling, or promise the sun and moon when they know they cannot hope to deliver. Typical in this are claims of making a person a millionaire nearly overnight... or on autopilot... or without any effort... I could go on and on.

Unfortunately, I got caught up with some of their rhetoric and bit a time or two, and found that the greater the claims or the more blind the advertisement, the higher likelihood they will honor their money back guarantee...

I bought too many programs that just didn't provide the informaiton I needed, had had to buy so many different ones to get all of the details to actually get anything done. I got really frustrated with the whole online marketing process. I got so mad about it I wrote my own instructional program, and am embarking on my ownn grand experiment to see if I can sell an honestly developed, honestly presented program, without any hype, fluff or bluff.

I'm hoping that I can start a new trend of returning to the basics of telling the truth about what the product is, and how much effort it really takes to get started.

I don't know what you consider a very large income, but yes you can do well
and keep your conscience intact. Staying honest is subjective, too.

You look young, James, and I don't mean that in any negative way. I'm not
young, I'll be 53 on Monday.

I'll tell you something, and this is based on a helluva lot; I think most of the
world including very many areas of business are not honest at all. In fact,
the history of big business is extremely dishonest and even criminal.

I can tell you stories about people who preach from the highest pedestal, and
they're not honest for a number of reasons. That's all based on my experience.

It's funny, but not really, that very many people do not apply the same standards
to themselves that they apply to others.

People also tend to look at themselves with less clarity than they do with others.

It's just human nature, James. The only thing you can do is control your own
actions. That is it - that's as good as it will ever get. I know that it can be an
assault of some kind when you see these things for the first time. I read the
posts, above.

But don't let all of it discourage you from doing and accomplishing something.

I just don't understand human nature. "Oh MAN! If I tell these people that I can make them a millionaire over-night on autopilot for free, I can make like...$10000!!! Or...I could be honest and take my time to make a sustainable business and make like...$1,000,000... Hmm I'll go with the method that takes no work."

People are stupid.

Well, you got to admit....some sales page are over exaggerating things.....

I think most marketers would create a story (with a tweak) based on their real life story to create a hype, especially in IM niche.

You know, the problem is that people love the dreams, and they continually fall for the deception.

Create two products, put your heart and soul into one and make it a practical guide that is of real benefit.

For the second, bang it off in an hour, call it some mega name and make a load of obviously false claims.

Then put them in the WSO section. Which do you think will sell the most?

People love to be deceived and led into dreamworlds.

With affiliate marketing it is hard, but nothing is impossible.

There are two ways to earn money.

1. Find some way to trick people and, in effect, steal their money without breaking any laws.
2. Provide a good product that people want or a service or information that people need.

I choose to go with option #2 but I realize that many lazy people out there choose #1. So when somebody tells you they can make you rich in very little time with nearly no effort, skip that thread! They will just waste your time and steal your money.

Hard work combined with a good product or service works! It's always worked! It will always work!
