Hey all. I'm not new to the warrior forum by any means...I had an account here nearly 2 years ago. A few of you might remember me. Back then I used an alias (Razer Rage, and I really don't like that name anymore). I can say one thing about using an alias on a public forum; it can bring out the worst in you.

Anyhow, I had that account deleted, reason being is that the WF was taking up so much time I wasn't getting anything done.

Several months later, I have two potential offline clients, and I'm starting a writing business soon. Taking action isn't so hard for me anymore.

How did I do it? It didn't happen overnight. It was more like a gradual change of my mindset. As I bought course after course, I kept finding more of the same information, just put differently.

Severe depression has also made it difficult to take action, but that's a different story.

Anywho, I have two bits of advice for Warriors or aspiring IM'ers who are struggling to take action:

1) You don't need to know it all. Sure, there will always be an "extra tip" or whatever that can work better than what you're doing, but until you get the basics down, nothing will work for you. Try to avoid any opportunities that are not directly related to your business of choice, and you'll be less likely to get distracted.

2) Do not, under any circumstances, give up. I know it may seem hopeless, and that no matter what you try (or don't try), you remain in the same place.

Just keep on trying. If one program to help you take action doesn't work for you, try something different. Eventually, you will find something that will work.

One thing that I suggest you look in to is Paul Myers' "Need to Know" ebook. You don't need to read the whole thing, just the bit at the beginning about how to take action. I know it works. If it doesn't work for you, no big deal. Just keep trying.

Like Winston Churchill once said "Neva, neva, neva, give up". You won't fail if you don't give up, but if you do, then failure is inevitable.

Well, that's it for me for now. Good luck with your future business ventures.

~Joshua

Thanks for your kind words Sheryl.

By the way, if anyone has any questions for me, please ask. I love helping people, and after 2 years of intensive studying of IM, I have plenty of knowledge.

I remember you as Razer. Welcome back, Joshua. Nice to see you using your name instead of an alias (assuming that Joshua isn't an alias, of course).

@seod: Because, frankly, that's a really cheesy name. I wouldn't be caught dead using a name like that.

@Dennis: This is my real name. And I remember you of course, half because of the posts you made, half because of your last name.

Crap, now I won't be able to address you as RR anymore.

I like Joshua better, anyway. It's always nice to be able to respond to the person behind the avatar once they've stepped out. So welcome back Joshua, and best of luck going forward.

    Joshua,

Good to see you back. I'm glad to hear the book was some help.

Interesting point about using and choosing aliases. That's something a lot of people see in others, but never stop to consider for themselves.

@Tina: It's good to see you again.

      Welcome back Joshua,

Your post is full of gold nuggets of wisdom and straight forward simple advice and I appreciate that.

You've inspired me to go off and edited my profile adding my name...you're all so very right...it's easy to hide behind an avatar.

I'm still working on the photo though...I don't want to scare anyone off and with a surname like 'Boccamazzo' that could be a problem.

I'm off to go and re-read my copy of 'Need to Know'...more gold nuggets in that book...thank you for the reminder...and thanks Paul for such a gem

Welcome back and very excellent advice.

I completely agree with you about taking action and getting distracted. Ultimately, you won't make anything reading a forum, an ebook or a WSO. Find some knowledge for a specific plan and then spend ALL OF YOUR TIME putting that plan into action. If you continue to research and brainstorm new ideas while you are still putting a plan into action, you will easily get sidetracked.

Yes, I know all about getting sidetracked because I've been working online for over 15 years full time. I can't tell you how many websites I started and abandoned in my early years. I even still have a few of these sites lingering around just because I don't want to give up the domain names, lol. These days though, I won't even start researching a new niche/site/idea until I have completely finished my previous venture, complete with marketing efforts and all. Once you start the next project, you easily end up ignoring past projects.

Think about the most common types of websites that people try to make money with. Blogs, membership sites, supersites or very broad topic sites are likely at the top of the list. To me, these are all time consuming businesses. You may only have the time to run one or two of these properly. Ultimately, to be successful that way, you will need to have one of your sites become rather big. I used to make those websites all the time, but now I really only make new websites that I can make and forget about. Sure, I go back through these sites every month or so to make a minor update but for the most part I just pretend they don't exist - except I happily accept the check each month.

I downloaded the Need To Know ebook, I have to say it contains some incredible information.

Ended up going to sleep much later than planned.

More than once, the thought as gone through my head to actually ask Paul to ban me so I can get more work done. Looks like I need to read that book again. Fine book, and if anyone says any different about it, they're crazy.

    Welcome back!

Not sure if I agree with that last statement. Mind you, I also think it's a great book, but other people may have legitimate reasons for not liking it. For example, some people HAVE to have visual aides to learn well, and Paul's books tend to be text only.

Thanks, and good luck with your future ventures.
