Hi fellow ghostwriters and marketers! I have a question but I have to give you a bit of background first. I originally created A Writer's Guide to Internet Marketing. It was specifically for ghostwriters like I was at the time who didn't know how to make money online. I took that, turned it into Building an eBook Empire, but did THAT one from more of a marketing perspective. People should not buy both eBooks, because they're basically the same, but for 2 audiences. And while I've updated and enlarged BAEE, I did not do the same with W4P. Okay. Now for the dilemma. Writing4profits.com gets a fair amount of traffic (considering I do ZERO promotion of it). I get from 700-3000 unique hits a month. However, it converts at zero, too! lol I get found via Google for keyword phrases such as: what do you look for in a job writing writer s guide internet writer s market writers guide pros and cons for using elance what do u look for in a job? what does a marketing writer do benefit of internet to writters how can a writer use the internet to reach audience clickbank internet marketing writer article writing forum list of female authors online guide to online marketing Based on that - I'm wondering if I ought to covert the sales page (and the product) so that it ALSO promotes the Building an eBook Empire version (that sales copy is on guide2ebooks.com). Because THAT site converts well! I feel like I'm wasting traffic but at the same time, I worry that the audience going to writing4profits won't know the marketing verbiage I use on guide2ebooks.com. And I also fear that the sales copy is more hard-sell on the BAEE and I struggled to make W4P more "writer-friendly" because you know how they (we) hate in your face sales copy! But since it's converting at zero, I have nothing to lose, right? I'm floundering with what to do with this site. It's built a list of about 300 so far, too. They're just sitting, waiting. lol What would you do with it? tiff |

I say start using your "search phrases", and convert that into an ebook... or better yet do a Camtasia Powerpoint video answering the questions. I am sure a video product would convert better than an ebook product. Or you could go one step further and sell both the ebook and the video in the same sale. You could really start paying attention to your search terms and every month or so, create short $7 reports that you could promote to your list based on these search phrases. You may even want to look into some survey scripts to put on your site as a way to query your list members and website visitors on what they want. |
