Do a search for Free Wordpress.org themes on Google and you'll literally have access to 10's of thousands of free themes. It takes a little legwork, but if you search long enough you'll find one that suits you.

Or you can pay a designer to make one to your specs. Many of the free sites offer this service... I've seen it as cheap as $39... look into it.

Or, you may even post in the help wanted section and let Warriors bid on it.

Are you looking for a free theme or a premium one? I tired of looking through the free bin and jumped on Thesis a long while ago.

Is there a blog with a style you like where you can find out the theme they used?

    Hi,
Well the good thing with Wordpress is a lot can be all front end GUI and your sidebars like follow me can all be achieved just by installing plugins. Same for creating your 10-13 tabs (pages). Do you have your own hosting yet?

There are two ways to go - either spend time, or spend money.

Spending money is the fastest way - there are plenty of Warriors who would be happy to put together the Wordpress site of your dreams... but it'll lighten your wallet. Just be extremely specific about what you want - perhaps if you can point to a website that is similar to what you want... I'd imagine that there are any number of Warriors who could put together what you want for under $100.

Searching around for a good 'all-around' theme that can be adjusted by yourself for this site, and future sites... will take time, but save money in the long run. I'm a fan of 'Privateer' - currently offered for free in the War Room - but Atahualpa & Suffusion are both extremely powerful, and free Wordpress themes. Any of the three can be easily changed to what you're looking for... In fact, the default 10-20 theme shouldn't pose too many problems in modifying it to do what you want.

Of paid themes, there's a multitude of good possibilities, and a simple search of this forum will give you Warrior's opinions on a number of them.

You can use any theme... and can add plugins for all those things that you need. Infact, you can even pick any available theme in the wordpress theme section... and can tweak it for your purposes.

    • You might still want to go with a premium theme. I found lots of the free themes to have 3+ links in the footer and when I tried to edit the code, it would be some base64 encoded stuff. Decoding it and deleting the parts of it I thought caused the links would make the theme crash. Happened to me several times and I wasted hours with that, so forking out a few $ for a premium theme will definitely save you a lot of time and headaches.

Also, as mentioned above, most of what you want to do can be achieved by plugins. The codes for opt-in forms, follow me/facebook buttons etc. can simply be copied into a text widget in your sidebar.

There are plenty of free themes that can help you get started but i would say choose one and go with it mess around with it and get familiar with it. plus you can change it anytime you like. some paid themes i would recommend is the frugal theme which is highly customizable and pretty easy to use as soon as you get use to it. also the thesis them is very customizable.

A theme that I like very much is this one:
Introducing ProSense: An Adsense Ready SEO Wordpress Theme

It's easy to customize, even if you don't use widgets.

And you think that opening up your Wordpress theme choice for general discussion in the Warrior Forum is going to make it easier for you to make a decision?!

I wish you well, and good luck, but make a decision and don't obsess about it. You care about it 100 times as much as your customers will.

The exact choice of theme probably won't affect your income at all, but the indecision certainly will.

You are right the forum isn't going to answer your question. I think that Themes are a personal choice. You need to choose the theme based on what your site is about. Every theme can be customized, really depends on whether you want to pay for one or grab a freebie. I use both freebies and paid ones.

For the large number of pages you might want to break these down into groups and use "Menus". That way it would be called "About Us" and then the drop down would give your Meet Me, Contact Us etc, "Products" would offer training, products you sell etc. Making an easier way to navigate around your pages.

Too funny... I see. I am ging to toy with a free theme and see what I can learn and go from there.

"Atahualpa" is good, but it did take me quite a while to unravel it. I've also used Mystique quite effectively. More recently Clearday (but it's tough to get rid of the stock images), Techzoic and Graphene which all allow the functionality you need. Hope this helps.

Just another one to consider. This time a free, "point-and-click" (well, sort of) customisable theme from British marketer and fellow warrior, Tony Shepherd: The Eazy Theme - Customizable Premium WordPress Theme. I think you only need to pay if you want a developer licence.

Personally, I've always custom-desgined and built my own Wordpress themes. For my Adsense sites I tend to alternate between just a couple of "homemade" themes anyway and make mild customisations to the colour scheme. For everything else I usually just make a design in photoshop and then add in all the bits and pieces. Time consuming, but it works.

I've seen, heard and experienced good things with the Thesis theme, though. Have configured that for a friend before.

Just decide, and move on. Get cracking with your content, your backlinking, and whatever. A theme can always be changed with a few clicks of the mouse, later on. Articles cannot be written and backlinks cannot be generated so quickly ... and in the end, these are the things that will contribute most to your income generation -- not the theme you're using.
