Privacy Add-On for a Domain Purchase - Can this stop legal bullies?

I'm curious, because of the amount of legal bullying going on now-a-days, whether this is a safe option?

Personally, I never buy a domain without activating this option, to protect from releasing personal information as well.

    I'm not an attorney but lets be real... what isp is going to ignore/fight a subpoena or a court order if it comes to that?

    In my opinion, the privacy setting is good for keeping your details from prying eyes but that is about it.

    It protects you against spam but not from being contacted about using a trademarked/copyrighted domain name if that's what you mean?
