How Often You Should Send Message To Your List?

I'm just amazed how this big time IMers able to send messages nearly everyday.

I heard from Michael Rasmussen that minimum is 1 message per month.

So how often do you send email to your list?

I'm aiming for once every 2 days.

..just don't send pitch after pitch!

Some people, Like Dan Kennedy say you should send something out every day.

Personally, i get annoyed with it. So I try to send a couple emails per week.

When I'm doing a promotion, it gets more frequent, then back to a couple a week.

That is, if I actually do it! Try not to broadcast... put it all in an AR

2-3 times a week seems to work well for me.

However, this far from a rule... I'm doing some stuff in the IM niche right now and I'm emailing my list daily for the first 10 days (special training). After that however I'll probably email my list 2-3 times a week.

I find once a month really isn't enough to create a strong relationship with my list.

From a subscriber's POV, I don't like getting a daily email from the newsletters I'm subscribed to. Most people are subscribed to many and getting a daily email from every one of them would flood the inbox. I do understand, however, that a bonus of some newsletters includes an ecourse and that this may come daily until the course is completed. I agree that once per month is too few. Personally, I prefer to get one or two per week

I agree with most of the input that 2-3 times a week is good, but there's an exception and a clarification necessary.

the exception is on your sales page you should have an opt in form. Then email the person with your autoresponder everyday for 5-10 days about your product/service from your sales page. Armand Morin says to do it for ten days with a different feature or benefit from your sales page broken up into ten sections.

The idea is, if they're looking for a ____ now, when are they most likely to buy, now or in a few weeks?

The other thing that needs clarifying is when you email your list, what should you send. It is okay to have a product or service in each email, as long as you have some content/quality info going out as well. Just a pitch should be rare compared to info and a suggestion.

If you look at Jim Cockrum's newsletter (over 150,000 readers) you'll see he sends out info 1-2 times a week and always has 3 topics to talk about. Normally one is an affiliate product, one is for his membership and one is free, helpful info.

It's a very safe formula to follow.

I think once every four days (roughly) is sufficient. Days pass so quickly, so once a day means that very often you're going to have at least two emails unread in a persons inbox.

    1. This is annoying for people, and you stuff is less likely to be read.

    2. It devalues your material. Less frequent can often increase perceived value.

My motto is, 'value in every email'. That's what I seek to achieve.

Really depends on the response of the list, but usually I send every 10 days.
    hope it helps you.

Wow. 2-3 emails a week? I'm not sure how can you provide quality content with that if you're solopreneur.

Twice a week is tops for me. Anything more frequent than that is just plain annoying. It will start working against you once you become annoying.

I wouldn't send more than once a week, if that. But my experience is with sending/making/providing content for offline regular storefronts. We've done polls, and the readers of our clients definitely do NOT want more than once a week, and most want less (unless there's some really special info involved).

As a reader, I agree with them. If you start emailing me daily, you better have some prime information (like a tutorial) in there and not just "buy this."

If I enjoy the material being sent to me, every day works. If it's something I just browse through, I like once a week.

I have signed up for a number of them because they are daily though. However each of those are short little messages I can read in just a moment. Longer e-mails tend to get forgotten because I don't usually get around to reading them.
