I'm new to IM and still sorting out what methods are available and which is the 'best'.

In the few days I've been coming to the forum; I've seen a number of questions from newbies, like myself, asking this same question. I've looked at the answers people are giving, and realized that what will likely work for me as an IM, is what works for me as a customer.

I love Amazon. I like the 'big box' stores, offline. Some people might say I'm anti-social,

I might respond that I don't like smarmy sales people, and I don't need to be catered to, but I won't.

It's a matter of preference. It's like pineapple on pizza, some people like it, others don't. There's no right, or wrong, about it.

So, that's the little nugget I've pulled from the stream. Now, I have a question:

I want to set up a bunch of long-tail targeted astores and affiliate sites - What is that called? What type of an IM do I want to be? I have an idea how to do it, I just don't know what it's called. Is it just 'affiliate marketing'?

    Hi!

    Yup that's affiliate marketing.

Whenever you are an affiliate for someones product you are in IM terms an affiliate marketer.......

    Welcome to the IM World!

    Kind regards

Many offers are lucky to convert at 2%...

My single best converting offer converted at 14%...

The point in mentioning these numbers is that your offers will never appeal to 100% of the people who look at them...

Many offers only appeal to 2% of the people looking at them, and therefore, the offer was not right for 98% of the people visiting...

My single best converting offer did not appeal to 86% of the people looking at it...

Your offer will never appeal to 100% of the people looking at it...

These numbers tell an important story...

They tell you that you should focus your sales message on those people most likely to buy your offer...

Sell to those who want to buy from you... And don't worry about the others...
