Site Flipping & New Google Keyword Tool Exact Match Searches-Choosing domain names

As a rule of thumb I have stuck to a minimum of 1000 exact match searches/month when choosing exact match domain names to build mini-sites around.

With the updated Google keyword tool, the search numbers have gone way down.

Domains that I bought previously that had 1000 exact match searches a month are now showing as having 320 searches/mth.

How have you been adjusting the numbers that qualify a target mini-site niche since the change?

Some recent purchases that had as few as 260/mth when rechecked with the new tool are producing results for me.

The number of available exact match domains with the old numbers seems to have gone WAY down, but their are plenty in the 250-600 monthly search range.

Any input from other site flippers or mini-site builders?

I've been using MicroNiche finder to help me find available exact match domains with 1,000 or more global searches a month (I, too, like to have exact match domains with 1,000 or more searches a month). I've been on vacation this past week and heard MicroNiche Finder was having some problems updating its software to work with Google's new keyword tool, but I recieved a message from the product's makers yesterday saying those issues were worked out. I'll be trying it out this week now that I'm back from my trip.

I have only had MicroNiche Finder for about a month, but I love it. I find it streamlines the process of finding good, available domains extremely well. It's a real time-saver.

      Hi Piper,

I use Micro Niche Finder as well, and keywords that I have searched both ways have had their exact match searches drop by a third.

My exact keyword domain sites that were getting 1000 exact match searches are now getting 260-320 exact searches a month. Ones that were getting 1900-2400 monthly searches are now showing as 720.

The performance of sites that I built earlier this year is remaining the same, so I am wondering if site flippers and other people who rely on exact match keyword domains are adjusting their criteria down to reflect this change in results.

Available exact keyword domains are very few and far between at 1000+ searches with the new Google tool. Those in the 200 to 600 range are still fairly easy to find. Based on what I am seeing, the performance should be the same, but I am wondering how others are treating this situation.

Last April I bought FaceBookLikes.com and now I am getting at least 400 unique visits a day for facebook likes.
