Do you sell PLR for your own products?

Do you sell PLR for your own products?

The pros:
  • more people might be interested
  • you can ask a higher price

The cons:
  • you'll not be the only one offering the products
  • other people might devalue the product, by selling for a lower price than you.

What works for you? Selling only the product or the product with PLR?

PLR products are not suppose sell as it is. You need them because it shorten your cycle for product creation. You still have to edit the products like you would for your PLR articles. You still have to use different images and even edit the sale page. But overall, PLR products help you cut short your time in product creation....

I'm talking about a product I create, from scratch. I can sell it:
      - with personal rights
      - with PLR

The question is : does it worth to sell only the product or the product with PLR?

Opps, sorry, got it wrong. If that is the case, I don't agree you havng a PLR rights tag to your products. You won't increase revenue that way. Instead, you can have Resell rights or Master resell rights. That way, your links to your websites are been spread around. You still keep your book intact.

As Coby pointed out, you missed the middle ground.

IMO, it's better to sell resell rights, even master resell rights, than PLR. You could also sell limited licenses to use your content for a specific purpose.

Way back when, I sold a manual on OSHA compliance and setting up shop safety programs. I later licensed that manual to a union local for use in a training program.

The only mistake I made was going for a one-time fee rather than an ongoing license or royalty agreement...

Products I create for myself are for myself only and I don't sell them with PLR. If I create a product like this then I usually put a lot of effort into it and I want it for myself only.

I do create products specifically to sell with PLR though, so it really depends on why I am creating the product. If it's for myself then I don't sell PLR with it, if I'm creating it to add to my PLR website then it comes with PLR

I sometimes sell resale rights but I have yet to offer the PLR to a product of my own. I have sold PLR products like articles, but these were not ones I created, but ones I purchased the rights to sell.

It might be advantageous to sell the PLR to a product once you have sold it and the sales have halted. This could put some life back into older products and crank up the sales. But thats just an idea. I have yet to do that yet myself.
