I Have Written an Article, Now What?

hi, first post here and this forum looks good.

I have been trying to work out how to get more traffic to my websites and I think one of the major things I have needed to do is write some articles and get them published on a few websites. This is not that easy for me since English and writing is not what I have great skills with. I do like writing though, it's just I'm not that good with all the fancy stuff with making articles interesting. English is tricky even though I was taught at school but things like nouns, plurals etc all confuse me. I also don't have the money to pay writers at this stage. I have used automated blog content for my websites in the past where articles are placed on your blog by writers but often these were of low quality, duplicated and many were not even relevant to the site subject.

Anyway, I have finally written one article that I want to send out to some article websites and once I do this and get a system in place I will then start writing a lot more. So is there a special thread here that has information about where to submit to? I know of GoArticles and Ezine as I often get content for my own sites off them, is there a list of some other ones I can use?

I also put my article on one of my own sites yesterday before I submit it or is this not a good thing to do?

    you keep writing more articles!

1 is just the start...you'll want to keep churning them out and spread them around various sites, including your own..the more you backlink the more you can help with your google ranks

i also use squidoo and articlesbase

Start off with Ezine Articles and GoArticles while you start to work on your writing skills. They will give you the best bang for your buck while you work on your writing skills. There are a ton of other article sites that you can submit to, it is a pain to manually submit to them one by one.

I can understand the need to bootstrap in the early days, but if you are determined to mass submit your articles to other directories, you are going to need a program to automate this. Look into Article Bot to get you running here. I think it runs $25 on a normal day... if you wait until November 25th I would almost bet that they run a half price sale for the weekend.

What is important in this early stage is to get your writing ability up while still creating an income stream. Crank out a few articles a day for practice and just keep at it.

Ill be totally honest when I tell you that your writing isn't as hopeless as you make it seem. You don't have to be able to write a whole ton better in order to make some solid money.

As for where to put your articles, that is a personal call. I would say to slap them on a website you control first, give it time to get indexed (hours to days) then submit them to the article directories.

Just keep writing those articles and you will be fine.

    EFT,

Keep up the good work. You can put the article on your own site first...wait and let it get indexed on your site and then submit it to EZA. Keep writing, you will get better and quicker with practice.

    Good luck,

It is better to post your unique article either on your site or article directory. Cos it helps in SEO ranking.

You need to check your article for its grammar and spelling before submitting to article directory, especially Ezine Article. Your article might be rejected if it is not written to their standard. I got rejected a few times n Ezine article.

Now I have writers writing for me. I got 2 writers each writing 10 articles (every month) for me for $40 per month (each writer). Each article is about 400-500 word.

My advice is to hire a writer if you are not good at writing to prevent rejection. In Ezine Article, if you are able to post good articles, you will get promote from Basic to Platinum membership.

    Ezine article membership:
Basic - 10 Article Submission Credits
Basic Plus - 25 Article Submission Credits
    Platinum - Unlimited Article Submission

I'm still in Basic Plus, cos of past rejections, but climbing to Platinum soon. For Platinum, your articles are approved faster. There are more people coming to Ezine articles to post some articles in their site with the source.

You can also anchor text keywords in Ezine article at the bottom of the article body, not only Resource box. But you can only have 2 anchor text, whether in article body or resource box.

Submitting to Ezine Article can drive traffic to your site directly & help in SEO ranking if you have anchor text in your article.

My website is only 6 months old but I can get FREE traffic of avg 30-50 visitors with Alexa ranking of >700,000.

I will share more in future when I get more result for driving traffic.

I usually post an article to my own website and then rewrite it a little before posting it to directories. You don't have to do this but I like to do it this way.

You have done well to get your article written and submitted so just keep doing what you're doing and repeating the process.

I wish you lots of success with it!

    Hi EFt,

I don't think you have to worry too much about the quality of your English. Some time back I ran a small article directory for nearly two years, and most of the articles submitted were incredibly bad quality. Judging from your post, I'd have to agree with Clintoc that your skills are quite good enough for general utility writing.

If you'll hang around the Warrior Forum and read posts for a few weeks, you'll soon gather lots of information (and opinions) and get yourself thoroughly confused. But that confused phase will pass. Before long, as you try different things, you'll find what works for you and what doesn't.

So just refer to the many good, high quality how-to-do-it posts from highly experienced Warriors, and put together a simple plan. Then carry it out.

And that plan - just go at it one step at a time. Nobody can do everything first, so be easy on yourself and do it gradually. That relieves the pressure to "get it all done by this time tomorrow."

Oh, and by the way, if you'll use the search tool here on the forum, I think you'll find it to be priceless. It'll let you look up years' worth of answers that have already been given (usually many times) previously.

And good luck with your business building. I hope you stay around and keep us all posted on how you're coming along.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,
    Charles

Just reading your post it doesn't seem like you have any trouble with the English language.

The best articles are written in a conversational tone (meaning you write it like you would say it). It isn't necessary to have big words or extremely proper grammer (although good grammer is necessary). Just write informative articles that are easy to read and you'll do fine.

Threads asking how to do Article Marketing come up quite often here - so I have a standard reply - I hope this helps:

Two brilliant threads to read about article marketing are these:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...marketing.html

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...eza-first.html

Read them both - all the way through - and take notes.

For further information I recommend the following directory - It is education in article marketing - a guide book and monthly newsletters - with a directory thrown in! You can read what Warriors think about it here:

also available as a WSO here:

This is a really great WSO for people trying to write good preselling articles:

I can also recommend the WSO's from this guy:

If you can spend some money then try any article rewriter or spinner like thebestspinner which can automate the article creation process and then submite those spinned articles to articles directories and also to freetrafficsystem, seo link vine etc.

Just remember...by submitting your article to article directories, you give other webmasters the right to publish your article on their site, provided they keep your resource links. As you probably already know...this is syndication.

    Hey thanks everyone!

I have submitted my first article now to 3 sites and I will try the other ones mentioned here as well.

You do get excited once you gain some momentum, the hardest part is just creating accounts at the publishing sites and setting everything up so once I get going it will be a lot easier.

    A couple of questions:

I have some articles I have written before, from weeks to months ago which are published on my websites. Could I submit these as well or would they be too old now?

I signed up with Squidoo, can I also publish my articles there as well?

I remember EZA does have a WP plugin where you can directly compose from your own site. If you're using WP, that is.

You might want to check that out. Don't know if you can post that to EZA or not though? Never try that.

I'm sure there are some other Article marketing expert can answer your questions here...

When it comes down to article marketing it depends on 2 things

    1. Keyword research

    2. Numbers

You are not going to get a lot of traffic from 1 article unless you totally hit a homerun, which is unlikely. So, keep writing keyword rich articles and submitting the and then when you can start outsourcing it. There are more profitable things you can do with your time.

Yeah I know I have to write a lot more, I'm very aware of that don't worry.

I also thought I would mention that I published this article on my own website first, a few days later I submitted to Eza and while it was waiting to be approved GoArticles approved it right away. So I guess that does mean that it's ok to publish them first and upload to Goarticles which is important to know.

If you are publishing them to article directories, don't write them at all. Just Use PLR, spin them, and submit to article directories. I would only write unique articles for a long term blog.

What I like to do with EZA is use the last paragraph of my article in the resource box. This gives me the opportunity to include my links in what appears to the reader as part of the article.

Since I'v been doing this I've seen my CTR increase significantly.
