Hey folks,

I noticed that all the new JV invites want you to give out your clickbank id. What gives with that? Can't they just use it or swipe it?

Maybe it's a dumb question, but I've just noticed that all the launches seem to ask for that now.

Peace,

Shane

The reason they are asking for it on the JV invite page is so that they can pre-populate all of your promotional materials with your correct affiliate link.

This is especially important if they are using a 3rd party additional tracking script and are providing you with a cloaked or encrypted link.

Another reason for requesting the clickbank ID, is if the product owner is using a JV broker to manage and recruit the JV partners. JV partners make most of their money by getting paid a percentage of all the sales of the JVP's they recruit.

And the only way to track this for a clickbank launch is to collect the clickbank ID on the opt-in form.

I second everything that Tanner said, that's exactly the reason why they ask for the Clickbank ID.

I just got my JV page up and I also had to include the 'Clickbank ID' field to get it live.

      All the best,

hello all, I am getting ready to launch hot damn short sales, I would like more info on this "jv" stuff. In my world of real estate investing, "jv" is joint venture, meaning we partner with someone on a deal. ie, i purchase it, they rehab it, or we both purchase, both rehab, whatever. But I don't understand the JV thing here with regards to Affiliate marketers? Obviously I want to attract the most AM's I can, how do I go about doing that? thanks

I don't see the harm in them swiping it (though it'd be conterproductive), because if they did actually do that and used your affiliate link in a promotion then you'd get the commission for the sale!

Think about it for a second - they're only doing it so that they can help you out by pre-populating all your promotional material for you.
