File Recovery software- NEED Help on something sooo basic !

I have some File recovery software (I have lost some files, which have been deleted - dont ask why lol)

-Note it is Just my HTML files which have been deleted (could it be because I used some cleanup software called Piriform CCLeaner last week ?)

I have 2 hardrives,

HARDRIVE 1- Primary (has windows on, and no files)
HARDRIVE 2- Secondary (Has the files on, html, music, video, pdfs etc)

The primary acts as the windows running one, and the secondary acts as the storage hardrive,

The ORIGINAL files have been deleted from Hardrive 2, (which have been deleted in the Windows drive recycle bin, and futher - so are deleted in Hardrive 1)

Recycle bin is empty.

the software is asking me which drive do i want to recover files from? - I am confused

The original files were in hardrive 2, but the recycle bin and NOW deleted files would be in hardrive 1, so what do i choose?

You should go to where the file was originally, and the way I understand you, that was HDD2. Unless you have worked a lot since then, the files will still be there, it is only the links to them which have been broken (with your "delete" action).

Btw, which recovery software are you using? I don't want to boost one, but had a accidental delete issue recently myself.

Yip, I second "Recuva" as suggested by s.MAX and GarrieWilson. It is free and dead easy to use. Good luck!

        I have 2-3 primary hardrives.

Does it matter which one I plugin for the recovery of the files on the SECONDARY hardrive?

(as all the original files were on the Secondary hardrive) or it would have to be the primary HD that the files were deleted from (out of the 3) - which i have NO clue which one it is.

or doesnt it matter? as the deleted files were on the secondary HD in either case.

I think you would go after hard drive 2, because the original files were there before deletion and what recovery software does is look for a residual image of what was there before (which apparently is fairly easy to do as long as it hasn't been overwritten with other files).

I was trying recover my files V 4.66.

I used Piriform CCLeaner last week (which is a scanner to delete temporary files etc)- and i did a delete. Could this software have deleted all of my html files?

Try (google "recuva", i can't post links)
From the guys who deleted your files, lol.

More serious, I use crap cleaner a lot and have never had that. So maybe you are creating html in a strange place (for CC) or you have set up CC to to clean extra folders....
If that is not the case then you must search for another culprit.

But if anything is still recoverable, recuva should recover it. Just try both locations, first where they were originally.

        Good luck.

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download

Its a free file recovery. I've never used it besides running it once to do a permanent delete of some stuff that "wipe" doesnt do.

I have used Get Data Back with great results but it's not free.
