Feedburner / Mybrand Confusion!!
Hello people! Need some help here. Confused as hell! Long time lurker first time poster.
Please tell me if I followed the right steps for using feedburner and feedburner's mybrand.
1. Signed up for feedburner.
2. Went to the mybrand part.
3. Changed the CNAME thing in my godaddy account adding the address that Feedburner gives out.
4. I enter feeds.mydomain.com and save. It says it's active. So it would seem so far so good.
5. Burn a feed using my domains Wordpress feed address. (mydomain dot com/feeds/ )
6. I install the feedsmith plugin. Without going into detail I seem to have been successful with this. I entered feeds.mydomain dot com when the feedsmith prompts me for my feed address. But I'm not sure if I should have entered this address or the address given to me by feedburner feeds dot feedburner dot com/mydomain.
Problem is, I have NO idea if any of what I did is working or not. I mean, how do you test to see if any of this stuff has worked?
I thought the point of mybrand was to have a feed address that is your own and doesn't belong to feedburner. How to you use the my mybrand address?
It says: "Make sure feed subscribers are subscribing to your burned feeds through your MyBrand domains. Doing so makes sure your personal domain (and brand!) stays front-and-center". How do I do that?
I am still unclear how these services relate to each other.
SO confused!! Help!!
BTW The domain name I am trying this out with is kaigillespie dot com.
