How best to monetize Solar-Energy.com

Hi,

I’m hoping you guys may be able to help me decide which direction to go in with my domain www.solar-energy.com
At present it just forwards to one of my sites and i’m a little stuck as to the best way to monetise it.
Do you guys have any ideas – or what would you do if it was your name? Affiliate products, solar energy store, etc...

I see quite a few sites that are turned into stores with different products – but am clueless as to how to put this together – is there a simple way of building certain domains into stores?

Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

    A store would be set up if you have your own products to sell. I'm guessing that you only have a domain name right now and no products. In that case, I would turn it into an informative blog with lots of original, keyword rich content. Include product offers and reviews from affiliates within the niche. Keep it fresh and keep the content quality high. Outsource if you have to.

    Preferably, make it real, solid, usable information, not yet another rehashed jump-on-the-bandwagon "green energy" site trying to sell equally crappy ebooks. (not ranting at you, but there's a lot of that stuff about already, we don't need more).

      do a google search for "solar energy" + affiliate and find some "outside the box" affiliate offerings.

      Populate it with readily available plr (manually rewritten), add videos, and take it to heart. Add some rss feeds of top notch providers in the niche...think ".org".

      One of my favorite niches, just haven't done anything with it yet.

        This is what I'd recommend doing. I'd also do some SE searches and see what others site owners are doing with their sites. Can you identify what others sites are missing? Find out what common issues people looking for these products/services seem to have and give them the answers.

    Thanks for the feedback guys - you are right though - there is a lot of junk in the space. It also seems quite competitive. Hopefully the keywords will help a little in the rankings when it's up and running.

    If you want to look at a site simalier in the green energy field,i have one.
    I have adsense on it,its in the right corner under the video.
    I also have 3 ebooks from CB on the right,about middle of the page.
    Then in the categories section at the top,below the header,i have an amazon store.
    The cb products are also linked to the banners.

    When you open my home page you will see left screen change with 3 different articles.
    Forget the name of that plugin.Maybe gallery or something.It is still kinda new,slowly working on it.It is in my sig file,go have a look and then look at others also.
