How many hours do you work per week?

hey im taking a survey to find out how many hours the average internet marketer works.

alot of people have set schedules (mon-fri 9-5)

alot of people also do internet marketing in their spare time..

how many hours per week do you work?

any mistakes you've made that you wish you could change?

Thanks!

**UPDATE**
>>>we've gotten a lot of replies already in one day... Thanks.
Can you guys describe the steps you take to "Successfully" utilize the time you spend with your online career.

what are some of the issues you face that keep you from being 100% productive during your work hours?

when do you procrastinate the most?

does having a family effect your online business at all? if so, how?

thanks again.

A couple of hours a day......I outsource a lot of what I need to do to maximize time.

Some days I work 18 hours. Others I don't work at all. It really depends on what kind of mood I'm in. When I'm in a super-focused mindset, 18 hours goes fast. Sit down at the computer at 8am and get up at 2am, wondering where the time went.

It's amazing what you can get done with the right mindset.

    Average: ~30 hours per week.

      Nice!

(The following is because I wasn't able to PM you directly on the PTF thread

By the way, thanks for your review of Perpetual Traffic Formula, including the comments about the support forum. Before I bowed out of PTF, I recall the support forum was struggling then, too, hence my frustration at the time. It's too bad it's still an issue.

Out of curiosity, in the coaching calls, Ryan talked about have some checklists created for each module. Did his team ever publish those?

All of 'em, except when I sleep...
Oh, you meant Online Marketing hours.
Well, the day job takes about 50 hrs/wk including commuting
I'm finishing the trim work of a new house, about 40 hrs/wk
Online Marketing takes up around 16 hrs/wk
That leaves about an hour a day for hygene and "relaxing", unless I sleep less.

So, that means about 2 1/2 hrs a day are spent on Online Marketing.

Biggest mistake was not getting started sooner. Next biggest: believing the ads that promised the moon and stars. Next: bouncing around looking for a "better way".

    It's all about focus.

I work about 8 hours a day. What takes up most of my time is graphics and web page creation. I hired a professional to design the site I am promoting now, so that saved a lot of time.

In order to create a presence online, I think graphics & pages should be unique. That's why I spend so much time on them. Wish I was much quicker at it, though!

Yeah, it is hard to find time if you work fulltime like me! I try to do 1 or more hours an evening but sometimes even that isn't possible. Spend about 3 hours each day in the weekend. But if you are working on SEO, need to find time to do it each day, so outsourcing is a good option!

    hey swags,
well i work part time still so i work there about 20 hours a week. then most of my IM career is either selling service, or working on selling services. so i can put in 1 hour days somedays, then put in 12 hour days other days. i keep a pretty weird schedule. i work at the job wed, sat, and sun. all days except sunday i'm up at 4 am, then on my off days i usually take a nap around 11 or 12. i'd say on average i put in about 20-30 hours a week online , and yes; i do work weekends, although now that it's football season, less so on sundays

First I would have to define which part of what I do is work and which I enjoy too much to call it work.

I try to get a good 8 hours a day / 6 days a week in... I like writing a lot of my own stuff especially for my money sites and Ezine since it is hard to find someone better. I outsource spinning more then I used to though.

If my/your focus would be on working a four hour week it can definitely be done. This is just not something that I am interested in at this point.

I just started in IM again. I have tried it before without any success. I know why I failed in the past. I didn't know what I was doing and was trying to doing pay per click advertising.... that was expensive with no results. Like I said, I didn't know what I was doing. I am at it again though and this time feel like I understand the concept much better.

Only been at it two weeks this time. I have a job I commute about 45 minutes each way so if we count the commute I work 50 hours a week at my job. This past week I wrote my first ebook and got the site up plus marketing the site I already have up. I have worked at least 40 hours this week at IM. I haven't made any money yet, but I will because I will because I am going to continue working it. I probably have at least 30 hours of IM work ahead of me next week.

As a hard-luck IMer, if I can get in 8 hours a day, I will. If there are some good launches in the same week that I'm promoting there will be a couple of 12-hour days.

October though, it was probably more like 4 hours a day, the only time in a year where I couldn't devote enough time to the business.

I have 3 blogs in 3 different niches, mentor for a 4th, and have a couple of specialty sites, so the work can be there!

As of right now I'm doing about 15 hours a day and 7 days week. So that's about 150 hrs a week. Every now and then i take a break. I'm trying to start outsourcing about 90% of the work.

So i can focus on other areas. My mistake was wasting 2 1/2 years plus lots of money on the next big product and not taking action soon.

To make the most of my time online, I write down what needs to be done then I simply don't allow myself to do anything until those things are done. If i don't write it down I tend to waste my time doing things that don't really matter.

And also I try to use the 80/20 rule which is that 20% of things that I do are generating the most results and so I focus on those 20% and don't waste time with the other 80%.

Didn't we all get into this to live life? Yet how many spend 10+ hours a day "working"?

I do 1 hour early morning. OFF with the computer....

go out, gym, cinema, coffee, etc.. Get out.

I then do 2 hours mid afternoon.

    Swith the computer off.

IF I need to do another 1 hour in the evening...I'll do it..if not that's it till next day.

I found I was spending 10 hours a day not really doing a lot. Trying to justify "working from home" but th whole point was to make a good living...whilst living agreat life!

If you work by yourself, and you are not really that experienced. Anyhow even though you are experience, there is no end in learning when you choose to work as a marketer online. Scripts changes, rules changes, search engines change, and a lot more. For me almost half of the 10 hours I put into it goes to reading and reading and study and study hard. And the other half for checking accounts, calculating data, and promoting non-stop.

If by "work" you mean sitting on the laptop reading, checking my email, writing the odd forum post, eating, prancing around the garden smoking and drinking copious amounts of tea, coffee and milk - I'd say about 12-16 hours per day, 6 days a week. The other day, at least half the time, I'm usually in bed, massaging my head and cursing myself for having drank too much the night before and making a complete fool of myself.

If you mean real work, probably about a 1/3 of that time.

There's so many distractions around here, it borders on ludicrous at times - and drives me insane - but I'm working on it.

    Time for some food.
