Hi
I want to create a registration form and put at the top of the home page of my blog. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it though.

When people register for a membership, I want them to be directed to a free download that I am offering.

Can anyone help me please?

PS, I need something REALLY easy to install as I am a bit technically challenged.

thank you
Angela

ps, it is a wordpress site

There is no standard library, and HTML is not made for this. That means that there are a LOT of ways to do it, and they all require something outside of HTML. That said, if you are using a package to generate the blog, IT may have an option or setting to do what you want.

I have had a look at plug ins and there are membership ones. I even installed one but couldn't figure out how to make it work.

I told you I was challenged

Are you wanting to collect the contact info and redirect to a download page?

Most commonly, as I understand it, you put in the script that's been created in your contact manager, like aWeber, or GetResponse. I've just been playing with MailChimp because I'm not ready to pay for aWeber again (I hate listbuilding with a passion) ... and that was fairly easy to do.

Each contact manager is going to be a teensy bit different, so there are no "one size fits all" answers. Which plug in did you install? Someone else is probably using it - you could do a search in here on that plug in name, and/or also go to the wordpress plugins site and look for instructions there. Here would probably be easier, since sometimes the developers aren't the best at explaining, because they are so familiar with their product that they forget not everybody knows what they take for granted.

You do NOT, I repeat: NOT NEED any plugin to put a freaking optin form in any WordPress blog...

Get the code you got from the autoresponder (AR) service
    Go wp-admin > Appearance > Widgets
Place a simple text widget in your sidebar
Copy/paste the AR optin code into the widget
    Save it

    Be happy!
