promoting products as an affiliate

hello to you all, i wanted to ask if its worth promoting an old product? lately ive been trying to promote quality products with a good tracking record but they are '' older '' products. Will i make sales? I doubt it, an example i can give is superaffiliates.com membership from ewen chia, i doubt i will make any sale promoting that but i may be wrong. I think promoting new products is the way to go but i want to promote quality products and new ones its hard to know if they good or not.

Isnt there 4 steps a product goes through?

1. Launch
2. Peak
3. Saturation
4. Decline

You can still make sales with older products.

It's all about how well you sell the product and how good the sales copy is

It depends on the products. Are they evergreen? Will there always be a demand for them? There is definitely a lot of money that can be made if you jump on all the newest products and market them effectively but you will find you are constantly having to stay ahead of the pack. There are plenty of 'old' products that are still relevant today and that also sell just as well.

You should test it for yourself...but the more popular is the product the less chances there are that you are going to be the first one in driving that lead to the site...so it will be more difficult to get credit for a sale...

You can still sell old products but it would be a good idea to add a bonus of high value that is more recent.

You might want to sell the older product but offer a bonus of "fresh" strategies that you can help them with. Or help them see what inside the product is still viable, and which are out of date. Offer them new strategies in their place as much as you can.

However, if a product is so old that they are likely to ask for a refund, then it may not be good for your own reputation to promote it.

An old product covering the same "slowly changing" topic
should be just as good as a new product EXCEPT the
newer product is likely getting more buzz in the marketplace.

When I recommend older products, it's often in courses, etc.

With some topics age matters VERY little though... since the
    basic facts change so slowly.

In fact, many of the things that you find in new IM products
today were taught in mail order products 20 years ago.

It is also good to market a product that is consumable or has a subscription. This will make a demand for it more sustainable.

I think it depends on how you are marketing them. If you are posting reviews on your site or sending to a list I don't think it matter how new the product is. In fact, think about the 'new' products out. They are probably likely to get 3 or 4 emails from other people promoting that product. However, if your promoting a quality product then I think 'newness' is irrelevant. In fact you never have to mention the product name. Actually, I recommend you DON"T mention the name just so the reader doesn't block it mentally if they've heard about it before. For example they may be interested and then you say the name and their like "oh, that what he's talking about?" and stop reading or change their view. However, if they read they whole post then click through they will probably have a different view of this product.

    Hope this helps. Good Luck

Its possible.. but I personally like to promote NEW, INNOVATIVE, UNIQUE products.

    Those are my 3 requirements.

I dont even look at gravity because most of them are inflated (on CB)
