Hey.

If you're reading this, then chances are that you haven't had much success making money online. Or it could be that you're just starting out, and you're looking for the best way to get started.

Well, I can't say this is the "best" way, but it definitely works.

So, what will you be doing? In a nutshell, writing articles. But, you're not going to be writing these to get traffic, neither are you going to put up a sales page and hope they sell.

You are going to submit them to Associated Content - associatedcontent.com

AC will pay you for your articles, anywhere from a couple of dollars to 6 or 7 dollars plus per article. They pay you via paypal.

For international users: This is NOT US exclusive. Although AC does require proof of citizenship, they don't require it until after you have earned $500 with them. Hopefully by that time you will have move on to bigger and better things.

Here's how it works: You submit your article via their "submit content" link, after you have set up an account of course. They review your article, and if it passes their guidelines, they'll make you an offer. This process usually takes around 48 hours or so.

Here's a few tips for getting your articles accepted:
  • Make sure you select the "exclusive rights" option, for a higher payout.
  • Make sure to double check your grammar and spelling. It must be very good to be accepted at AC
  • Do keyword research before hand. AC likes articles that are well-optimized for low-competition keywords.
  • Try to avoid subjects that are saturated in AC (like weight loss). Do a search on AC's site before hand. If there's a lot of articles on the subject, target a sub-niche.
Right then, here are some easy ways of getting your articles written:
  • Rewrite PLR content. Nothing new or inventive here. Grab some article re-writing software, get some plr content, and re-write it. It's pretty quick and easy.
  • Use speech-to-text software like Dragon Naturally Speaking. This is perfect for those of you who hate typing. It's also one of the fastest ways to "write" articles.
  • Outsource. Look through sites like Fivver, Amazon Mturk, or MicroWorkers. You can get good quality articles for cheap, and make a profit by submitting to AC. You'll probably have to run the article through a spelling/grammar checker first.
Let's do a little math.

Suppose you write 5 articles per day, and on average, AC accepts 3 of them (if they reject your article, find out why, improve it, and re-submit. ). They also pay an average of $4-$6 per article (a bit generous, but very possible).

That would be $60-$90 per week doing very little work.

Oh yeah, there is one little caveat: You do need to do some work. I have to be honest with you; whatever business you try to get into, you will have to do a lot of hard work before you get a big pay-off. That's just the way it is.

Sure, you can try looking for the "magic bullet", but you will always find that they require work or a deep wallet.

Think about it. How much money and time have you spent trying to find the "instant, no work solution" to making money online? If you had taken that time and money and applied it to making a real business, where would you be today?

I spent 2 years and thousands of dollars jumping from product to product. If I had spent that on making a real business, I could be making a 6-figure monthly income.

Far too many people ask "how to make money online" hoping someone will give them the magic answer.

The truth is, there are thousands of ways to make money online. What you should be asking is how you WANT to make money online. What do you enjoy doing? What are your strengths? Use what you already have as leverage for your online business, and you will find success will be easier than you thought.

If you hate doing articles, fine. No one is saying you have to do that to make money online. But you DO have to stick with one thing. If you commit yourself to something, stick with it through thick and thin, and it will pay off in the end.

Best of luck to you.

Joshua

    Here's another idea:

Create a free blog on blogger.com. Next, pick out 1 product on your favorite affiliate network, and write a review. Tell the reader that if they buy through your link, you'll give them a bonus (make it a GOOD bonus that compliments the product).

Finally, create an article that uses the keyword "product name review" or something similar. You can submit this article to whatever article directory you like the most. You can then turn it into a pdf, and submit it to sites like scribd and docstoc. Then, you can turn it into a video (read it out loud, and/or turn it into a power point presentation and add music).

Rinse, and repeat once per day. Eventually, you can build up a good income doing this.

Another idea is to actively participate in niche related forums. Put a link in your signature, forget about it, and have fun.

Yes, facebook is good. But you hit the nail on the head. Go to where there is traffic and secretly help people, show results and put your advertising message in front of these people.

Leverage big traffic sites, and send em to your offers. My big secret YOUTUBE BABY, YOUTUBE......

      Let the good times roll!

To get more than a couple dollars, you must write an article on a topic that AC doesn't already have. With the thousands of articles already published there, it can be difficult to give them a brand new idea not already talked about on there. The highest offer I ever received was $2.35, and it was optimized for a keyword not found in any other article on the site, according to the search function. I gave up with them because many of my articles didn't qualify for the upfront pay and for those that did, I received an offer of $0.99.

If you choose the non-exclusive option, your article will not be eligible for the upfront payment.

Really? The lowest offer I've ever received was around $3. The highest was over $6. Of course, I was writing guides for a browser-based mmorpg, so that probably had something to do with it.

It's like I said; write content that is in high-demand, and hasn't been done to death already.

        Here's two examples:

        Thanksgiving 2010 AND
        Christmas 2010.

Those two holidays are high in demand right now, and odds are good that AC will pay you good money for high quality articles in those niches.

Also, don't forget about their partner offers. Those can pay out as much as $15+ per article.

Honestly, there's no reason you can't consistently get high offers on AC. True, many of your articles will be rejected. But then you just rewrite them to fit AC's guidelines, and resubmit them.

This stuff works. It's not meant to be a long-term income by any means, just a way for people to get started so they KNOW it's possible to make money online.

Great idea but the reality is you are never going to get consistent offers over $1.

Article marketing is great for bringing traffic to a review page, but keep in mind that your review has to have some negatives or the article directories won't take it.
