I need a clue as to why to open your email

You get them too, don't you... you have opted-in to
Bill's Marketing List
Joe's Emailing Tips
Ruby's Copywriting Secrets
and Twip's Tweeter Sets

but then you get "their" emails with no such related "from" address in sight...

just email from
"support"
"your manager"
"notification"

so it looks more like spam hit your inbox than something you requested information on.

So, please...
I asked to receive YOUR information, let me know it is from YOU. If I don't open your email when I can't easily tell who it's from (without hovering there...), and you wonder why the open/unopen stats are so bad... now you know!

Put your site name, your name, the service,or the mailing list in the "from" area of your autoresponder...

Give me a clue and I just might become a customer after I open your handy-worked email!

...that's why they get deleted by me instead of getting read.

I always have a sender of "Rick at mynewslettername" and found open rates are reasonable. Before I did that, I had a couple of people say it was hard to find my emails...

Good point. Otherwise, I'm tempted to delete them as well. It's about being personable. The customer wants to connect with a person, not to some nondescript entity that could fit most anybody.

It's not enough to want it... you have to want it enough.
