How to make content slides on a static page

I've seen a lot of blogs with this appealing content slides at the top of the page.
Believe those blogs slides are made with a simple plugin.

Is it possible to make a similar slides on a static html page? Probably on sites created with Frontpage or Xsitepro?

    Yes you can do it on static sites.

    All of those sliders are made from Javascript which can be added to anything.
    A slim few are Flash/XML

    And all of those sliders usually have a demo on nothing but a static HTML page.
    Then someone else made them into a plug-in.

    Since my favorite JavaScript library is jQuery, I Google jQuery Slider and you get a page full of options
