How do you setup your website?

I was wondering in what order do you setup your website? Does design come last? Do you get enough articles first?
I have been getting keywords and stuff but I do not know where to go from there. Im kind of at a loss as to piecing it all together.

I've noticed that you've mostly asked questions over the past three days that you've been here. I understand you having questions being new to this whole thing but you might find yourself doing more good by using the search function up there in the red navigation bar (3rd in from the right) and perhaps Google.

You also might see what's available in this section: http://www.warriorforum.com/make-money-online/ You will likely find many good, basic instructional ebooks in there that will help you learn the basic stuff.

What tools are you using to find your keywords? If you have found your keywords then you should have your target niche. You should know who the top ten websites for your keywords. Look at what they are doing and come up with a plan of action for your website; don't reinvent the wheel. Then purchase your domain name from companys like Go Daddy, 1and1.com for about 3-10 dollars and purchase some webspace.

You need to decide what type of website you want to build. I think a Wordpress website will be good to start with. Do you have a Domain Name? If not go buy one from Godaddy.com then you need to buy one of Godaddy's webhosting packages. Next they should have some videos on how to install Wordpress using Cpanel.

To answer your question, my routine are:

    1. Keyword research - I only research max 10 keywords for a start
    2. Find a domain name
    3. Order article creation to my writer
    4. Install Wordpress - Setting up - Finding themes - tweaking etc
    5. Install tracking code from statcounter
    6. Post the articles and schedule it
    7. Start backlinking

    Hope this helps.

well i already found a domain name, I just need to wait a few weeks until I have enough money to get hosting. pcmaxsecurity.com I think thats a good domain name. I am going to use wordpress, or maybe try to make a site with the tools provided by a hosting site. How would I get a template setup for a business site though?

Theory5: I second what superwahmmy said about Fantastico on HostGator. If you've not had a website before, or don't know HTML, Wordpress is by far the easiest for most people to get started, and the free themes available make it quite easy to personalize.

You can literally sign up for HostGator, go to your domain name provider and point your domain to the hostgator nameservers, and most of the time, by the time you have the wordpress blog set up (under 5 minutes) and your first post written and put in place (25 miinutes writing, perhaps 5 minutes to install first post, including learning the process), your domain may already be already visible on the internet. Quick, easy, and stable. Bonus: If you have a good coupon, you can get hosting at hostgator the first month for a penny. (HMTspecial is a good, current coupon.)

Its kind of depend how urgent you want your website ready? If I know that some topic is going to be hot selling in next 6 months, I will start "parallel processing".

I.e designing & Usability + Content + Getting site Ready.

Then comes Link building and other marketing tasks after my site is ready.

I agree with Tina, This form has a lot of great past posts you could use to find info. But, I know when you just beginning how it is. I think its different for most people. When I started I went with design first, then I started on content and keywords. However, now that I know the game a little better, I would do keyword research first and would have some content ready, would get the site up and running, do some seo, then I would worry about design. Lest face it, for a while the only person seeing your site is going to be yourself, so a simple design is ok to get started. Not to mention simplicity is much better in most cases. Good luck.

I like godaddy. They are the bomb for hosting and web domain and customer support like crazy 24 hours a day. you could work on building your site yourself through them and simultaneosly contribute to the other aspects of your campeing. Design takes a while. Then when everything is in place you can publish all the content at once

First I decide the keywords then move on with using wordpress themes. Then I hire someone to write content for me. After applying all essential plugins on my site I post content there.

I'd definitely recommend starting out with self-hosted Wordpress blogs if you're new to all this. Niche and keyword research has been covered extensively in here, and you'll just have to dig up the relevant threads in here using the search feature.
