Looking for experienced marketers's opinions on grading Conversion Rate %'s

ok. Basically I want your opinion on this: Lets say I'm giving away a free ebook to a target audience, and its an extremely good ebook, unique, original, and could easily be sold for $25 to $30 if marketed properly.

If I link back to my site in the ebook, and have a members area where I charge a nominal fee of around $4 a month for ongoing helpful information and content, if you could put a range of conversion rate %'s (ie, 1 - 2%) beside the below grades:

Ridiculously good conversion % range =

Very Good conversion % range =

Good conversion % range =

Average / normal conversion % range =

Poor conversion % range =

Very poor conversion % range =

Extremely poor conversion % range =

Your thoughts would be appreciated. And I laid out the scenario because I feel the conversion % will be different for linking back to a site for them to sign up to a subscription VS actually promoting a single product landing page to pay for 1 time.

I am no expert on conversion rates, but I am good at predicting people's responses for questions like this one.

    It depends.

well yea, the factors it can depend on a literally endless. I'm not asking anyone to hit it on the head, but I didn't foresee just giving a guestimation on a RANGE (1 to 2% etc) over 6 different grades would be too big of a problem *shrug*
