Will Changing My Site To A Blog Hurt It?

Hi Warriors

I am just about to update a site of mine that has started losing Adsense income in the hope that it will revive it.

At the moment it is an HTML site and I was wondering if transferring it to a Wordpress blog would help in it's promotion or could it hurt it's rankings? I want to change to WP for the ease of adding articles and the plugins available to help in SEO and promotion.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated ...

Cheers

Neil

    Hi Neil

It will be an advantage to use wordpress. Just see that you redirect the pages correctly

I have worked and edited on more than 25 wordpress blog and sites

Oh, definitely big plusses moving it to a blog platform.

Blogs are SEO friendly (wordpress especially), and by adding articles, you place fresh content which always attracts Google's attention.

Pluss you have an RSS directory you can submit to RSS sites like Feedage, etc.

And Wordpress is flexible for adding themes and plugins that can make tasks easier.

      Blog's the way to go.

Neil, I'm not sure how well optimized your existing html site is for SEO, but it's incredibly easy to SEO a WP blog, especially with the right plugins, so unless your current html site is extremely well optimized I can only see this changeover as having a positive impact on your site in terms of rankings.

You can eat the cake and keep it too. Why not create a sub-folder (like domain.com/blog/index.html) and put the blog there. This way you can keep your existing site with all its indexed pages and have a blog too.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    George
