I have been running a lot of split testing on this subject recently.........
The results point a conclusion of cater to your market and subscriber.
Tire kickers in the IM niche will not double optin as they are after instant downloads. Other niches where value is appreciated will double optin.
65% of non niche subscribers will click the confirmation email whereas 13% of the IM crowd will double optin.
These results are based on 6 months of split testing on the same variables.
