I really need some help

I bought a "business in a box" from this site:
Quality PLR Articles Only a Click Away!

Basically I bought one of the packages and now what do I do? I use the articles and make them chapters for an ebook? And then I sell this ebook? Or I give it away free or something? I don't understand the business model here.

Sorry for the dumb newbie questions but I'm not familiar with "squeeze pages" and all of that stuff. I'm really just trying to learn.

What exactly came with the package? And what did you have in mind when you purchased it? I mean, you must have had some idea of what to use it for or why buy?

There are many things you can do with PLR but tell us more of what came in the package so we can make better suggestions.

I've never used PLR, but I think the idea is that you can re-write some of them into a "free report" which you use as the incentive to get people to opt in to a squeeze page. And you use the rest to re-write - after doing some keyword research in the niche - and submit to article directories linking back to the squeeze-page to build the list. And then if there are any more, you re-write them and use them as the basis of emails you send out to the list you've built, promoting products in the same niche as an affiliate.

At least, that's one way you can use them.

The question is: did you pick a good "desperate buyers'" niche? (Don't answer in public).

I picked them for that site I showed you in private messages. I don't know if you remember it but I'm not sure that buyers are "desperate" but actually in a way they would be. Hmm....

A bunch of articles and header graphics and banners. I bought it because someone said it would be so easy to create a "business in a box" from it, but I'm not connecting the dots very well.

    Jennifer,

As Tina says, it depends on what came with it.

Let me make something up to get you started in case you don't want to reveal the niche, etc.

Say you bought a thing on dog grooming.

Say it came with PLR articles, a squeeze page and graphics.

    A couple options are:
    1. Use them to create your own product
    2. Use them as blog posts and try to monetize by placing ads on your site (people come there for the content, then click your adsense/amazon/clickbank ads)
If you build your own product, say "Everything you ever wanted to know about dog grooming" to follow our theme, you can put all the articles into an ebook (use Word or Open Office) and then save it as a PDF file.

It would be better to modify them somewhat and try to add some extra value to the content (more info/bonus related products like dog training tips, healthy dog food options, etc)

Take parts of the articles (or just a few of them in their entirety) and put together a short pdf report. Don't give away the candy store, but entice people to come back and buy your full product. Give the report away in exchange for them signing up to your list - make sure to reference the full product in the giveaway report and link back to your sales page.

If you decide to do the blog or website with them, then use the articles as blog posts or web pages. It's probably best to modify them at least somewhat.

Either way, change them up a bit, leave people wanting more and post them on article sites (ezine articles, etc) and point back to your web site/blog.

To pointedly answer your question about squeeze pages - they are nothing more than an email lead capture form. The page has a sign-up form on it. Someone puts their email in the form and "signs-up" for your list (which is your autoresponder as you may have heard it called) and you send them the link to your free version of your ebook.

You also then can email them targeted valuable information (don't send your dog grooming list stuff about Internet Marketing for example) and try to sell them your other products and/or affiliate products from clickbank, etc.

Hope that helps - pm me if you need more.

    Gary

P.S. - I think you are the Jennifer that I'm working on the site review for - it's on the way very shortly as promised.

I think starting out, it would be great to build a simple squeeze page giving something away to build your list. (A simple report, etc.) Having them sign up to your autoresponder, you'll have a targeted audience to build your business upon. Then, you can begin to branch out with more products.

Well, that's not what I would call a business in a box but you could use the headers to put up a website and use the articles on the site. I'd recommend rewriting them somewhat, or adding in content of your own. Then you could either go for Adsense income or put some CPA or affiliate offers on the site.

Yeah.. they do a trial. Hopefully you'll be able to make your second month's payment back before you're due to pay it, if you put in the work.

The thing about using a free autoresponder service to start off is that you can't feasibly move the list over to any new service provider, without forcing your subscribers to re-confirm their subscription. Many won't do that for whatever reason, and you'll end up losing a significant number of subscribers.

Yes, it's free, but you're limited in what you can use it for.

If you're an affiliate marketer, you cannot go about your business without violating their Terms of Service (it's prohibited) and risking your account and lists.

In order words: MailChimp is a no-go zone for affiliate marketers.

Oh aweber is only $19/month? I didn't realize it was so cheap. Yes I will use that then.

Okay but how do I keep track of my people who signed up? Don't I need a database for that or does aweber do that?

Aweber stores your list(s), on their servers, on your behalf.

Aweber tracks it - you should export them to your computer as a backup (they have a chat button that can help you - they are pretty good) but they keep it all in their database for you.

It doesn't look like their posts are all irrelevant to any given thread's main topic of discussion, to be honest.

It seems to me that the poster is advocating the theft of potentially copyrighted images from Google Image Search, rather than utilising "PLR images" ... which can be risky, of course.

I didn't say they ALL were, just this one...lol. I can't begin to guess what they were trying to say with this post as it didn't give enough information to even make sense. The OP is talking about PLR articles - I fail to see what that has to do with Google images. Could be they mean what you think it might be...which doesn't improve my opinion of the poster at all.

            Jennifer:

I'm not entirely sure what List Builder Pro is - sorry. It doesn't look like an autoresponder service, though (and certainly not one that means business): just some package of (or script for building) squeeze pages or what not.

In any case, you have a few important considerations to make in selecting an autoresponder service.

You can use a lesser-known, cheaper (or free) service, but a common disadvantage of them is lesser deliverability rates.

Companies like Aweber invest a lot of money and spend a great deal of time buying/negotiating their way onto spam and/or ISP "white-lists", to ensure that they can achieve the highest email deliverability rate possible.

This is something you cannot achieve with a self-hosted solution, nor something that can be matched by a lot of cheaper / less popular / smaller competitors of Aweber.

And because of what I said about it being hard to effectively move your lists between service providers, without losing a lot of subscribers, you'd do well to pick from one of the larger, better-known autoresponder / email marketing providers, such as Aweber / GetResponse / Icontact, etc.

            Just my tuppence worth, anyway.

Jennifer, List Builder Pro looks like a monthly co-registration service, not an autoresponder. It's meant to work with an autoresponder service like aWeber, not replace it.

It appears that they are offering some squeeze page templates as an enticement. You can find templates for opt-in pages without joining a service. For that matter, aWeber should have some basic pages you can copy and modify.

From what I've read of your postings, you aren't ready for a co-reg service yet, so in your shoes I'd put LBP on the back burner. Stick to aWeber and learn to build and develop a list before playing with list-builder lead services like List Builder Pro.

Jennifer, I took a look at the business in a box packages that you listed, and it looks like what you could do is incorporate some of the graphics into a simple squeeze page, and then rewrite one or two of those PLR articles and offer that in exchange for subscribing to your list.

Since each package is pretty tightly niched, I suppose you could cobble the rest together into an ebook by adjusting and rewriting those articles as needed. It's vital to follow up with your subscribers after they subscribe so that they can see the benefits offered in your ebook, so just go for the $1 trial in Aweber.

Hopefully the quality of the PLR articles that you purchased are halfway decent, and if that is the case then it really wouldn't take much effort to rewrite them.

Regarding images, don't forget the free stock photo sites like sxc.hu - it's a total crapshoot when browsing for pictures in there, but you may get lucky!
