Anybody Notice The Rotating Text Ad At Top Of Forum?

What do you think of it?

Is it getting your attention?

Have you clicked on the offers to see what they're about?

Have you purchased any of them?

I'm sure Allen is testing something. I'm hoping he'll share the test results with
us.

Curious as to what kind of response they're getting.

And no, I'm not even going to ask how you get your offer featured up
there.

I read the first one, thinking it was part of the WarriorForum (it was blended well by using the same font). The second one was a paragraph in blue, all underlined (like a hyperlink) - a little obnoxious, but I read it anyway to see if these were in fact banners.

After that, I tried to find a way to block them in Adblock, but the DIV tags don't have IDs, so I couldn't. You win this one, Allen.

It's funny to read threads like this when test results show the exact opposite. Interesting..

Allen, don't you know that marketers will always bitch about being marketed
to while at the same time spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars
a year on "how to make money" products?

It's the complete opposite of the 1,000,000 who claimed to be at
Woodstock when only about 300,000 actually attended.

In this case, everybody claims to ignore the banners while the reality is
that many DO click on them.

Yeah, this stuff cracks me up too.

LOL, I've clicked on two of them so far. One I couldn't imagine being up there, and another one where the guy had a video of himself talking. Cool video. It's nice to see what other Warriors look like outside of their avatar.

Noticed and clicked the first one. Highly disappointed and so didn't bother clicking the next one.

Must admit, I prefer just the text, plain and simple. Sorry but just the colour of the submitter one is enough to put me off. And I know it's a personal thing. Am sure some of you find that shade of green really attractive. :p

Actually the submitter one was a mistake, it wasn't read closely enough. It will run its course and be gone. We were in a hurry to test out the banner system..

I've clicked on a few out of curiosity, but haven't bought anything as these are not things that I'm specifically looking for at the moment. It'll be interesting to see if any sort of "banner blindness" develops over time with these ads becoming more prevalent in the future.

The reason I didnt click on one is because I was unsure if the user would get charged (PPC) so I found it unfair to click. But now, I will click ahead, it will be interesting to see the results.

Would you mind posting the average CTR and Clicks daily when you have compleated the tests Allen?

      Noticed: yes..

      Clicked: no

Nothing of interest so far and try not to buy stuff for the sake of it.

The WF is a bit like a street market in Bangkok.

Some things are so cheap that you buy them on price alone... then when you get back home, you say to yourself: WTF did I buy all this crap for?

      Happy testing.

        I noticed this.

But where do you sign up for this?

        How much is it?

        How much inventory is available?

What I really want to know is how many banners are rotating with one another, which will determine how many views each banner gets.

Definitely worth testing this if there is a way I can pay to get in on this.

You get highly targeted ads for a highly targeted niche, with a highly prominent placement.

Anybody got any idea how much traffic you can get from this?

IMHO; although the WF demographic is speculatively measurable; (being that I've never seen any true numbers -- just Quantcast); based on the sheer diversity of the demographic, I think its still a tad bit too early for anyone (anyone meaning Allen -- as he's the only one with the cumulative data -- everyone else is just independent) to give accurate conversion numbers.

              just my 2¢

Been running top of forum text ads for a while, from what i see it is also possible to run dedicated forum specific ads as well / a global view then a forum / sub forum view.

with that ? it may be possible to run ads at sub forum level / (such as copy ads in the copy forum) limited then have them all run at global level on the top page.

looks good regardless and should be a winner
