I was thinking about promoting a certain book on CB. I purchased the book, and signed up to the merchant's list through his opt in form on the sales page. I noticed, however, that all his auto responder messages link to a different (non clickbank payment processor) sales page where the same book is offered (for about 5 dollars more) in both print and ebook versions.
This means I will not be credited for any sales when a customer signs up to his list and purchase later. Am I being sensitive or does that sound like a raw deal for the affiliate? I think I'm going to pass on this merchant, but I was wondering if more experienced affiliates object to this type of thing too? Thanks, -Nick |

I would probably pass on it as well. I agree that it is unfair to the affiliate to switch processors or to not credit the affiliate through the AR series.

Hmmm... How about merchants who have the link at the bottom for affiliates? Also, how about the floating opt-in windows that close the sale 7 emails later? Do you think you get the credit for that? Yes, it is a problem.

This sort of merchant gives others a bad name.
As you did vexxx it's worth signing up for any autoresponder to see how they link back to the sales letter... And if they strip the affiliate out of the link then drop them. There are plenty of reputable merchants who will be glad of your traffic and won't remove your chance of earning your due commission. |
