Hi,
I'm in South Africa and would like to pay someone in the Phillipines.
Xoom no longer accepts non-USA credit cards
And the guy I want to pay cannot use paypal.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

    You can try Western Union.
By the way, it's not that hard to get a Paypal account from the Philippines.

Western Union wanted people from the US as well.

What do you mean? WU has several locations worldwide including South Africa.

    Sorry.
They do take from South Africa but I have to go into a branch and show my id etc. I want something where I can put in my credit card details online without having to go to a branch.

      Hi,

Xoom can also be paid via your Paypal account.

When you pay your Filipino coworker via Paypal, you've got to mind the fact that they will have to pay Paypal fees, too, for getting the money. I let them bill me for those costs, because these few dollars are peanuts for me, but big money for them.

The easiest way to pay them, though, is simply via your bank account to theirs. You can take care of all the costs easily, then, and it only takes a few days for the money to travel.

I thought Xoom discontinued the paypal payment option?

    Hi, I'm from the Philippines.

You may ask your VA to sign up for a paypal account. Ask him/her to get an eon account from any union bank branch and use it to verify his/her paypal account and then link it to any Philippine peso bank account.

This is the Union bank eon card application procedure that your VA would need. There is an application fee/ annual fee of 350 PHP or $8.

    Goodluck!

Xoom has discounted the paypal option as well.
I can't transfer directly from my bank account as our foreign exchange laws disallow it.

Options so far seem to be:
    - Western Union

    Any others?
