I Need A Concise and Step-By-Step Plan of Action

All these information floating around the Internet is confusing. I just don't know where to start. One day I'm thinking about setting up niche sites. The next one I'm thinking about building up a mailing list. I don't know how to piece all things together so that I have a concise and step-by-step plan of action in Internet marketing.

Can you suggest a course or program that has a step-by-step plan of action? I've encountered a few in the past that while they presented solid information, I didn't know how to implement them. It would be great if somebody gives me a list of things to do in day 1, day 2, day 3, and so on and so forth so that I won't get befuddled and lose my concentration.

If I can't find anything, I might have to do it on my own. I'll start collecting notes and bits of information from anywhere I can find, and then try to piece them all together like a jigsaw puzzle. But I hope anyone can suggest a course or program that can do it for me. Thanks!

I would read both posts by LMC or Gpower2 about their virtual real estate. Then sit down and write your own blue print based off the information they provide.

Make yourself some goals based on the business model and stick to it till you knock out those goals. Give yourself some deadlines as well to work toward. If you stick to the systems they provide you will start making some money.

Thank you for your advice. I'll definitely take notes about the methods they're using and try to make my own blueprint using the information they provide.

The advice to follow the above two threads is good to see what is possible and to motivate you to set goals and achieve the same thing. However, as a beginner just starting out you truely need a foundation and hands on experience to indeed achieve that.

I replied to a similar post earlier and my suggestion to you is to go through Ed Dale's The Challenge, formally known as The Thirty Day Challenge. This course should be Must Do for all beginners. Ed will take you through the complete process of basic IM.

I really can't encourage you enough to do it. You can read as many posts as you want here, but without a solid foundation you don't have the skills, knowledge, and experience to understand the small details needed to be successful.

The posts above and posts all over this forum will tell you make niche sites, use this kw criteria, creste backlinks, etc... But where do you start? Do you know how to do effective research so you dont waste your time?

The Challenge will give you the basics and foundation to get started successfully.

Thank you, rhab. I will sign up for the Challenge right now. However, I am not a "complete" newbie. I had a very few and small success in the past in IM, although it was a hit-and-miss approach that generated only a few hundred dollars in affiliate sales for me. I already knew some of the basics of IM, such as basic SEO, backlinking, keyword research, a few PPC strategies, etc. But I think I need to add to my knowledge, and I agree that the Challenge is a good way to learn the basics of IM.

With so many ways to make money online you FIRST need to figure out what type of promotion you want to do because you can be successful with all of them but not unless you choose one first and concentrate on it until you get it down pat.

So first choose your traffic source:

Organic - it's cheap but you need to invest your time and some $ on high quality tools or it will take FOREVER to generate any real numbers
PPC - it can be expensive but it's fast and has the potential to be very profitable
PPV - loads of traffic but has a learning curve on how to monetize the pops
Email - can use organic or paid traffic on the front end but takes some patience on the back end tryign to monetize your new list.

I'll go with the Organic route. I don't want to use PPC or PPV just yet as I don't have the money to invest on them.

Stop looking for "THE plan" - stop collecting bits of various information from everywhere - and don't worry about the big jigsaw puzzle. It will fall into place once you choose one method and get going on it. If you have different "thinking" every day - you are spinning wheels.

It's the trap many new marketers fall into - too many possibilities leading to indecision and to nothing accomplished. Get out of that mindset and focus on one method at a time.

Thank you very much, kay. I think I have information overload that's why I can't decide what to do. I really need to stick to one method and work on it until hell freezes. :-)

I agree with the poster on the 30 day challenge. Not only is it a great starter course that really takes you step by step... it also, in a way, holds you accountable.

When you have something holding you accountable, you're more likely to stay the course. And staying the course is really what it's all about (once you've got a good plan, that is.)

Totally agree with make your own blueprint... that way you will be inspired by it and stick to it.

You have clearly done the research so you do know what your doing (even if you don't know it yet) you just have to connect the dots.

After years of struggling too I can relate that there is simply no main map to follow that will fit every person. I'm trying to create the closest thing to it with a membership site that offers help with discovering how to create your own map.

Of course, the whole thing hinges on your ability to create a daily routine and make it a habit of discipline. And you know what that means! No more looking at instant sales pages with enticing new offers. You should be developing the routine and sticking to it - no matter where it leads you must follow.

Then you'll look behind at the distance you traveled and be amazed. Going to go follow my own suggestion right now - hoo hoo..

  • Do you have any type of passion or hobby you are familiar with? a blog in that niche could be a good start. That's how I started myself and it worked quite well.

Thank you for you valuable advice, fellow warriors. Rest assured that I will be taking action and just stick to one method. I hope that I can achieve my moneymaking goals. My first goal is to earn at least $5,000 a month by the end of 2011. Wish me luck!

@Anonymous Affiliate - my passion is Internet marketing! I have a blog set up that will contain my experiences in IM, although I'm not yet an expert in this field.
