Yeah the price is going crazy - I can only see it increasing as well with the current instability in currency.

Gold is insane. I sold a couple of necklaces and a cheap ring and made about $225.

I was in Mexico about 5 years ago and I bought some of their centenario coins that were pure gold, I bought them for about $300 a piece and now they're worth nearly 1,200 a piece. I should have bought a lot more, would have been a nice investment

Wait 'til Bernanke's done monitizing a trillion dollars of U.S. debt. Ever heard of the collapse of the Weimar Republic in the 1920s? Yeah, Allen will be charging $600 to run a WSO and your $27 product will be selling for $150. The bad news... you'll be paying $80 for a gallon of milk (if you've got government ration coupons to get it).

Actually, when the collapse of the U.S. economy comes to fruition as the result of the de facto irrelevancy of the constitution, I think the IM market will produce even more hungry buyers for get-rich plans as their incomes can no longer sustain their needs. --Mike

Well, if that happens, which will be quite soon if it carries on like this...

HIDE YOUR GOLD, SILVER ANY METALS!

          Why?

Cos the Gov will come in and push down your door and take it back off you.

Cos you're on Federal land, they can do what they want.

I use to be a gold broker and people have been saying get your gold, shotgun and bag of rice and head for the hills for years now, I personally dont think much will happen other than some inflation later down the line.

Also if the economy does collapse you'd be better off hoarding booze and cigarettes rather than gold these days...

I am worried that things are going to get out of hand. I am not in the US but I watch programs from the US and something could go down. I agree with Mikemcmillan. The best thing people can do is get informed and prepare for what could happen. The US dollar may lose its status as the reserve currency sooner than some of you may think. I hope the good old people of the US ward off that Weimar Republic fate. The Fed has a lot to answer for.

    Funny you say that...

I got a project on the go that's taken quite some time to put together...

hoping for it to take paypal out of the picture...

Members will NOT be liable to pay tax, cos Gold is not a currency, thus, tax free.

Only the interest that is made is taxable, once it's withdrawn.

Living in Oz it is (at the moment) all about parity wth the US$. This hasn't happened for decades apparently and they think it may continue for a long while.

Have been watching Glenn Beck and his expose on George Soros is very interesting. If you want to find out more about this man and his undue influence and clout you will be doing yourself a favour. Soros wants 'an orderly decline" of the US dollar. I would say more but I'm trying not to be too political.

I owned a website that took e-gold payments for a few years and I actually amassed a tidy sum. I'd redeem it out of the system for physical coins as fast as it came in, and I was selling an information product, so it felt like i was literally transmuting into gold.

I still have all the gold and got it out of e-gold before half the accounts on the system were shutdown (saw that one coming).

The stuff is worth a small fortune today.

You could still try this approach with Pecunix.com as far as I know (in fact I think I still have a few ounces of digital gold there, come to think of it)

Mike, we'll know the world has changed when WSOs are being priced in Chinese Yuan...

I wish it would have stayed around $400 an oz. I used to make a killing on buying scrap gold, but when the price started to climb, everyone and their brother started buying old and scrap gold. The competion went up and the margin went down. I don't bother anymore.

I was thinking the other day ... When I left school (In South Africa) about 15 years and CD's had just come to the mainstream ... Yes we are a bit behind there lol

But if I look at how much the world has changed since then ... Mobile phones, entertainment, transport, TV, HD, Mobile internet access, facebook, .com's all of this stuff could be a part of our history ....

Lets hope we come out stronger as i think this one will be a tough one to live through ... We are so used to credit, shops with stock, constant communication ...

could be very hard for us to adapt to such change ...
