Ebooks for ebook readers & smartphones

Just want to guage everyone's viewpoint on converting their PLR or their own ebooks in standard pdf mode to converting them to pdfs that render correctly using mobile technology and also converting them to epub and mobi formats to offer them to a wider audience and potential sales.

Is there a market?

I'm not just talking about running it through a bit of software and getting a result that may or may not work properly but looks rather amateurish.

I'm talking about something that is properly tagged and rendered, useful navigation tools and a professional look

It's my next project - I think with more and more people using readers and mobile applications that there is a huge market for information that can be accessed through these "newer" technologies - learning the new skill set required is a little bit more daunting, lol

    Best wishes

I've been doing a fair bit of research into this myself. Really wanted to see if other people thought it was a good area to get into.

My first introduction to tagging pdfs was to make them accessible to screenreaders etc.

Getting them to render properly to accessible software/hardware also makes them render properly on other software/hardware e.g. smartphones.

Having them render properly in other software makes them easier to convert to other formats and also give a higher quality conversion.

Of course the tagging is only one part of it!

Yes, there's a huge market there and it's growing every month.

Kindle and the ipad have brought ebooks to a new generation, and I doubt we'll even seen the market peak for several years to come.
