Google webmaster tools?

Do you guys even recommend submitting sites to google webmaster tools, I mean is there any benefit?


I guess My sitemap will be picked up no matter what as Long as I create a proper sitemap using a plugin and As long as I choose my site to be displayed as www. in wordpress, do I also have to do it in google still?

Whats the benefits, other than google having even more control over our sites?

    It's useful for geotargeting ie if your site is registered/hosted/privacy potected in the US but you actually want to target say the UK market. You can let Google know via GWT and you will then be weighted correctly in the UK index.

    Also useful for requesting pages to be removed from the index which sneaked in accidentally if you forgot to noindex them.:rolleyes:
