EPC is the average earnings per click for the product. The key word is average. How aligned your market is with the offer will determine your specific EPC. The better aligned, the more you will make. That average is really the biggest challenge of choosing something based on EPC. If the item has only been promoted to super targeted groups and you target a more general group, you don't get nearly the results you would expect from the EPC figure. So in a sense, EPC can be a very misleading figure. Factors such as seasonality of the product, the marketing campaigns used to get the clicks, the name recognition of the promoter(s) all go into how well any specific campaign will do. Without knowing this sort of data, it is hard to meaningfully compare EPC figures between similar programs. So use it as just one more guideline when choosing a product - not the only factor. |
