Default Article Marketing Question: Resource Box

Hi Warriors,

Question for article marketers when it comes to the resource box.
It's one of the important pieces of the puzzle when it comes to
article marketing and I'd like to know how you do it.

I've learnt that it's recommended to include...

1. A Benefit
2. A Link Bait
3. At best, 1 link. Maximum of 3 links

Here's what I'm not sure about... Do you include a little bit of
"About the Author" such as (author name) is an expert in (topic)
in the resource box or is it not necessary - meaning to just have
a "Get your free doohickey at (link)" is sufficient?

And for all the articles that you submit, do you customize all of
them or do you have the same resource box for all?

Do you think the resource box affects the rate of publishers
using your article on their website?

Asher

No, no author info. NOBODY gives a rat's behind who you are. Just tell them
what's in it for THEM...PERIOD!

I make each resource box tailored to the article that I'm writing.

That way, the article just flows right into the resource box, making it appear as if it were a part of the article itself. Those are how I achieve the greatest results.

Okay, so question 1's cleared: No need for an "about the author"
and just get straight to benefitting the reader.

What do you think of questions 2 & 3?

To reiterate:
2) Do you customize all resource boxes?
3) Would resource boxes be something publishers take a serious
look at before using the article?

I do the same.

And if giving a little author information fits, I do just that.

Hi Asher

I usually include 2 links to articles on my site that are relevant to what I have written about.

I came across an article the other day where the author had said 'If you want to know more about (author name) click here'.

I've just started implementing that with a link to the 'about' page on my site.

Steven and Hamida both say not to but I thought I'd test it anyway. In time I'll discover from stats whether readers are interested in knowing more about me or not and how often are we told to test, test, test.

If I only have the option of using 2 links then I would only link to articles.

Alrighty, answer to question 2 of customizing resource boxes: Depends

What about question 3 then?
3) Would resource boxes be something publishers take a serious
look at before using the article?

You may have to experiment with the resource box depending on what niche or market you are in. One pat answer will not work for all of them.

Thanks for all the answers.

@JJ Manning
Thanks! Very insightful reply about when to use the "about author"
and when not to use it, I'll definitely take note of it and test it out.

@Robert DeAngelo (hope I got that right)
I'm definitely looking for backlinks because I'm trying to establish
some sort of presence on the internet for my website. So that's
why I'm asking the question of whether the resource box would
be a factor that publishers take into consideration.

I agree with the "swiping" method as I'm pretty much into NLP
as well, thing is though, I've got 3 experts on my list to watch
out and learn from in EZA.

1. Steven Wagenheim - article/bum marketer expert
2. Dean Shainin - article/bum marketing wiz
3. Daegan Smith - article/network marketing expert

Who are the experts that you incorporate into your swipe file
and why do you include them?

@youTribunedotcom
That's very correct about "one pat answer" not working. I'm not
looking for a one pat answer because the darn thing doesn't exist.

The reason I'm asking these questions is because I want to find
out the fundamental principle of how they work because while
rules like keyword density and stuff always change, humans don't.

So I'm looking to find what has been working well and throughout
for article marketers by learning from those who have been at it
for a much more considerable time than I have.

As far as the publisher taking a serious look at the resource box, I would say that if they want the article bad enough, they are going to take it either way.

A well-written resource box, simply put, is your double-edged sword, so making sure it's the best it can be would be essential.
