Is this normal?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hey all,

I am working on getting my client's blog ranked higher on Google. He started on the second page of Google and shorty after we started doing work it dropped to page 6. Is this normal? We are not doing any black hat work. Just simple articles, press releases, blog commenting, forum commenting etc.

Also, are the article directories no-follow or do-follow? Do you still get credit for the backlink when you submit articles?

How old is the website? If its new (less than a year old) then that is perfectly normal. This phenomenon has been aptly titled the "Google Dance." Usually after about 30-60 days the website will settle somewhere on the first page. This always happens to new sites when you first start building backlinks, so don't worry.

You might spamming with your articles submission. or blogs. It is recommended that you submit about one to two blogs a day, not ten or twenty.

  That's recommended by people who uncritically believe and accept the urban myths of internet marketing.
  
  If you could damage your site's SEO by submitting to 10 or 20 blogs per day (!!!) don't you think thousands of people would very quickly and easily do that as a way of disabling their competitors' sites?

Our article submission is set at 3 articles per week to the top 25 article directories. That's not much at all (I think lol)

Yeah the site is less than a year old. Well if I have to dance, it might as well be with Google.

That's Nig G strutting her dancing shoes again. That's pretty normal for "baby" sites. This usually occurs when a young website is optimized for SEO. It'll be in normal state soon after. Good luck to you, my man.

Question.....are the article sites still "do-follow" sites? The reason I ask is because none of the articles we are submitting are showing up on yahoo site explorer.

All part of the learning my friend. Can't know everything Anyone who says they do is simply full of crap. The net is changing to fast.

I'm actually doing the work for a friend who is a local real estate agent, very cheap price.

We got our personal blog up to number 1 and didn't see the drop this blog has seen. That's what made me raise the question.

This is perfectly normal and it is normally caused by what SEO Experts call 'Google dance'

Update: I am happy to report that our site has gone from #60 to #11 in a few short weeks.
