When searching for a keyword or keyword phrase hit the competition button in Google keyword tool and start browsing keywords from the lowest competition down.
I found a keyword last week this way with 450,000 searches a month and only 1,250 competing pages (direct match).
I added a page to a blog of mine got some backlinks and am now #3 on Google for that phrase.
I got 24 conversions yesterday with an offer from Neverblue which pays $4.25 per lead.

Awesome stuff Bravo. It must feel super good to rank well for a juicy enough keyword. I think I understand what you are suggesting. I will keep it in mind when it comes time to revising my keywords. Did you get the competing pages figure by using quotation marks for a search on google?

Yes, I go through the tedious process of adding quotes to the keyword phrase in Google to find low competition keywords.

Yeah. I do that too. I have heard that anything under 50,000 pages with quotation marks is a good keyword to pursue competition wise as that shows how many pages are deliberately optimised for that keyword. I have also heard that the best thing to do is find out the number of backlinks the top 3 or so sites have and see if you can better that and if so it has potential.

No, it is for organic listings.

I am working on my website selling the automotive LED lights, but seems almost every keyword is very competitive.

Do you check the Only show ideas closely related to my search terms ?

Excellent idea. I am going to try that in my future KW research. Thanks for the tips and congrats with finding such a gem! 450K searches per month with 1250 competing pages in pure gold.
