"What if?" vs. "What now?"

Hi Warriors,

I have seen a lot of people doing this, and hope what follows will help.

It seems that those who are not seeing success with certain methods ask a lot of "what if" questions.

What if I can't figure out how to upload my site?

What if I get too many refund requests?

What if my graphics aren't good enough?

What happens if I choose the wrong keywords?

What if I get stuck?

What if nobody clicks on my links?

What if...?

Sure, all of those can be legitimate concerns, however, they can also be excuses in disguise. They are questions that stop people from taking action. They are justifications.

I firmly believe that the answer to all "what if" questions is experience. Just try it and see what happens. You would be amazed at how often ACTION gets rid of such questions.

So, do something. See what happens. THEN, and only then, if those same questions come up, you won't be asking "what if", instead you will be asking "what now" types of questions.

There are some "what if" questions that need to be asked, and could fall in the category of planning, but take a look at the questions you're asking and see if they are what's holding you back.

All the best,
Michael

I agree in principle. But the fact remains that if people would start thinking in those lines then the world would definitely see many more successful people - and I believe people don't succeed because people don't want to succeed.

Here's how to avoid all that:

Take a break every hour that you are working - just for a minute.

Write down (quickly) what you have accomplished in that hour to ACTUALLY MOVE FORWARD.

DON'T make it a big deal, just put in briefly on a piece of paper or simple text document. If you find yourself with lots of hours and not lots of accomplishments, it's time to stop worry about what if and start living life and getting stuff done.

Nice post as usual Michael. Thanks.

This post is awesome. Yes, it is a sign of fear of the unknown, failure, and even success.

Life is a risk. And it is even riskier not to try to make something out of life because you think that if you try you might fail...Okay, what if you succeed?

It's a mind's game - if you can overcome yourself or your mind, you can overcome anything. Don't settle for mediocrity.
