Went to buy CB product, but said "not trusted" when tried to pay??

Hi Folks

I went to purchase a Clickbank product which was launched today, but when it went to transfer to paypal for payment, firefox said "you have asked Firefox to connect
securely to www.paypal.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified."

Do you guys think firefox is just being over sensitive? Ok to proceed???

Cheers
Phil

There should be a button which says "View SSL Certificate Details" or something to that effect. Click it and check the dates of validity. Also make sure the certificate's CN field is the same as the URL in your browser. If the URL is not the same, I wouldn't proceed with the transaction.

Also, check the time and date on your computer and make sure it's accurate. It may just be that your system time is not correct. That's more likely.

Note: I just check the dates on www.paypal.com's SSL certificate, and it's valid until next April, so it's most likely your computer's date/time settings.

    Hey there

Thanks for your help. There is a details button, but only says this when I click it:

www.paypal.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for www.paypal.co.za

....I've check the date and time on my computer and that is fine, so not too sure what's up??

    Cheers

That's the problem with firefox nowadays because I even have a site that firefox tag as a malware which I only have one file and it's even a redirection to an affiliate site.

Ahh, figured it out, I think you were right to a degree, it was because when choosing paypal, I had location set to US, so that could account for the time difference check??

    Thanks for your help
