What do you think of this niche?

Ok I have a friend who is a recruiter/ headhunter so he helps people get jobs and I been talking with him about putting together a "system" to assist people in getting jobs. But I'm wondering if you think a product like this would convert well. Let me know what you think

Doesn't the "system" already exist - a recruitment agency/employment agency.

But there are referral companies that do exist. Basically how it works is you have a third party that attracts companies seeking employers who then advertise their jobs on the third party site. And on the other side you have people who join the site and refer friends or colleagues to jobs that they think the friend/colleague will be suited too.

The people who join as referrers get a commission if the person they referred is hired for that particular position. And obviously the third party also gets their cut.

It can actually viewed as a derivative of affiliate marketing but the products are people.

A typical example will be a Canadian company called Bohire.

Yeah but basically what this system would do is show the job hunter the methods the recruiter uses to get people jobs and it would entail how to interview. Write good cover letters and resumes, preparing, presenting and getting in touch with the decision maker and by doing this you wouldn't be relying on a 3rd party

Okay, I see your angle, and it "might" have potential.

The reason I say "might" is because it is so easy for an unemployed person to get onto a search engine and type "how to prepare for an interview" or "job interview tips" or "how to structure my resume" etc.

And you must also remember that the unemployed individual isn't really in a financial position to pay for a one-on-one interview coach.

Then on a positive note, there might be people who have failed so many times in an interview that a coach is their only other alternative.

I think product like this can convert into many $$ if run properly. If you consider the unemployment scenario and people searching for employment then this idea is very helpful.

Slice it up into different industries perhaps. Perhaps geographically too.

You need to prove people is actually spending money in this market, the problem I see with this market is this:

Headhunters are paid to find people to job offers no job offers to people furthermore an unemployed person that is desperate to get a job may not be willing to spend some money to "get a job" one of my biggest failures was to create an info product where I explained to people how to get a job no matter the economy, not a single sell in 6 months!!!, nothing, zero, nada.... but maybe I was not skilled enough to make the marketing.... I am open to that possibility as well... just my 2 cents....

    Hope it helps

There are services like this out there, but if this is something that he love, is good at and can bring a service that is new and different. It will sure to work.
Just see what the other are doing and are not doing and capitalize on it.

Like others have said, the unemployed aren't really a buyer market. To make it profitable, you'll either need a really good USP or to use lots of income generation stuff that doesn't require them to spend money (like AdSense and in-text ads).

Yeah I thought about the whole people are unemployed and wouldn't want to pay to get a job but I thought that all the more reason for them to buy it too and I also know people are paying to have their resumes written and paying for career coaches

Well as a previous poster mentioned: adopt a USP and take the risk.

If you writing an ebook on the subject, you can hype it up a little with something that says: "Recruitment Expert Reveals Little Known Insider Secrets on How to Secure the Position of Your Dreams"
