Would videos on my website help increase Google rankings

Hello all. Just wondering something right now. I want to build an authority site for low competition keywords with about 30 pages on a site and each page would target a specific keyword and have one ~700 word article seo optimized for that keyword as well. now lets say that this page/article ranks on the first page of Google but I want to boost its rankings from say position 6 to position 1.

Would turning the article into a video form and posting that on the page as well with the article help increase my rankings? or would I be better as well to just submit the video to a bunch of video sites?

Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated.

    It's more content, so yes, adding more content to a blog will help get traffic. Just a small tip for video, use a meta description tag for the video, it will help the search engines understand what the video is about, and will boost rankings faster.

    If you post it on youtube, then you have high chance of good ranking for the video itself. Youtube Videos stands out in the SERPS
