Know what I love? I love all these "Notification Of Payment" emails that I get from PayPal or the CB-xxxxx emails I get from Clickbank. They really keep you inspired on days when you think it's just too much trouble doing all this work for the money we make. But that's not the point of this post. See, today, I got one of those CB emails (only vendors get them) and I noticed something strange about it. It wasn't for my main Clickbank product in that account. You know how you can have multiple products under one account, right? Well anyway, I looked at the number and didn't recognize the product right away, so what I did was go to my tracker to see where the sale came from because I've stopped promoting off number products for a long time now. Okay, know that myth about how your articles that you submit to directories over time eventually just stop bringing you in traffic and you have to keep writing them in order to continue getting traffic? Well, today, an article that I wrote and submitted on 3/26/2007, brought me in a sale. Now, admittedly, it was the first one in quite a while from that article, but still, here it is 20 months later and people are still finding that article on line. As a matter of fact, much to my shock, that article has been average over a view a day this month. Then I started going through ALL my old EZA articles. I love their new tracking stats. Guess what? ALL my old articles from 2007 are averaging over a view a day. Imagine what will happen when I go from having 1200 articles online to 2400 articles online. The momentum doesn't stop folks, whatever people tell you. Your old stuff, if it's good, will still bring in views and visitors. This is a good part of the reason that between 2006 and now, my income online has more than doubled. Hard work? Yeah. Takes dedication and persistence? Yeah. Have days where you just don't feel like writing? Yeah. But one day, I'm going to look up, find that I've built an empire and then I'll be able to go out surfing with J-Mo. But first I have to learn how to swim. |

that is impressive stuff ... i wonder if articles written in the past will have more longeitivity (sp?) than articles written now ... i.e. with ezine being a much more crowded place these days, and many good keywords been written about over and over ... |

Steven, do you think your old articles would have generated more sales if you put them exclusively on your own site ?

Nice work. But on a side note, do you have to configure some setting on CB to get those notification emails? Or is that something else..

Huuum. This is good to hear. Especially for those Affiliates (like myself) that were worried about those clickbank issues that aroses friday. Or when ever most of those treads were started. Good to hear this. Clickbank still lives. Its not dead. |

I like Steven. What he shares is like golden nuggets of wisdom. Most newbies who are looking for instant result will give up on article marketing. Writing is hard work and the result takes time. It is like sowing seeds and dispersing them everywhere. One day you come back and find fruits all over the field. It is encouraging to know that article marketing really work. Like farmers, if we patiently and consistent sow our seeds, someday we will reap the harvest. Thanks for sharing Steven. |

Steven, I agree with you in terms of articles having longevity... but a major distinction should really be made about the quality of any article submitted to both 3rd party sites and your own blogs/sites etc. If the quality of content is low it may do more harm than good to continue with article marketing as every article submitted is reflected on your reputation. If the article quality is half-way decent it can build your reputation and continue to win favor from search engine traffic. Remember, as search algorithms change they can dictate how and if people can find your articles... if the quality of the article is perceived to be low by the search engines then it will become much more difficult for people to reach your article via organic means. |

That's right. Don't know who started this myth, but it's crazy. I still get sales from my old articles as well. I also like to get sales from old articles (maybe more than my newest one). It's a good feeling. I'm not at 1000 yet... I've been following you on EA (like all the top writers...) and you write like clockwork. One article at a time per category... slowly but wisely. All the best, Franck |
