How to refund a dispute?

So, I got a dispute in PalPal today claiming unauthorized use. I just want to do a refund but it is not letting me.

When I go in to do the refund there is no refund link.

So, do I have to let them just take the money out or what?

I sent my reply stating that I would issue a refund, but the way I normally due refunds is not available.

    Hi Shannon,

I have been able to refund during a dispute. Well, I think so. hehe

Is it within the allowed time to refund?

Yes, They bought and then turned around and opened a dispute. Funny thing about it is I offer a money back Guarantee.

I think the problem is they did an unauthorized use dispute. Basically saying that someone used their paypal account. But, they knew about it minutes later.

I just want to refund them like I would have done if they contacted me. Then I will add them to my ban list for making me waste unnecessary time on this.

That could be why they won't allow you to refund. It is a pretty serious dispute reason.

I have had other reasons for refunds. Some people just couldn't find my email to ask for a refund or a question and they opened up a dispute. I guess the email on the receipt wasn't good enough or the download email sent. lol

It doesn't happen that much so when it does it really isn't a big thing.

I am sure Paypal will refund them for you.

PayPal can be pain sometimes, call them directly.

Don't quote me, I'm not the PayPal expert - but I'm pretty sure that the status of the payment has to be 'completed' before you (or PayPal) will do anything with it. Could that be why the refund button isn't available?

      No that's not the case...

When you login to your PayPal account you will notice a box to the right saying Open Dispute.

Click on that link to see the dispute and click on respond to this dispute. then you will have to click a link to resolve this dispute. That is when you can send them a refund. It asks if you want to send a partial refund or a full refund.

I've had this Unauthorized Dispute thingy happen to me on one of my WSO's (That week was quite rampant with disputes as there were many warriors having the same problem from the same person).
