Need The Best Wordpress Plugins for SUPER FAST Top Rankings

Hey Warriors,

I'm putting a wordpress blog together to help support my nephew
who's currently performing in the Broadway Play called 13 The Musical.

Although everyone that sees the play says it's one of the best they've
ever seen, it's a new play (first season on broadway) and is running
the risk of being shut down early due to our current economy.

Unfortunately, the play's marketing/pr team totally sucks at marketing...

...especially internet marketing.

They are doing some of the right things, but not following through at all.

Here are some perfect examples:

- they have a twitter page, but they don't even have a link to their website on it.

- they have a youtube channel with tons of video footage from the show and
cool back stage stuff, but don't have any links to their site and/or other videos
in their description.

There's more, but I think you get the picture.

So what I did was set up a blog at
Save13TheMusical.com

There is no content up there as of yet, but I intend to add a bunch of stuff
over the next coming days.

What I need your help with is advice on the best plugins to help achieve
top rankings for many relevant keywords and keyword phrases based on
the blog's content.

I know Google loves wordpress as it is, but I want to get as much as possible
as fast as possible.

I'll be installing Viral Inviter on it which will be a big help, but I know there
are plugins that put all the social bookmarketing icons under the posts and
what not.

So, any and all suggestions are welcome and I'll keep you posted through
this thread as it starts getting traffic.

I agree, All-in-One-SEo is the catch all-doo all plugin for rankings. I see that you mentioned Twitter in your post. We'll here's a link to a twitter plugin (Twitter Tools). I haven't used it myself but, it may be something you can check out.

Make sure you submit your RSS feed to as many places as possible. Just Google "Submit RSS Feed" and you'll find plenty. That'll start you off building backlinks.

I think you mean ShareThis? I use it on my wordpress blogs, it install in a snap and works great!

Google Sitemap Generator and headspace2 plugins in addition to the above recommendations.

Ditto on submitting to rss feeds big time

Also - create a very quick free wordpress blog hosting on wordpress - and link a blog post written and in the blogroll back to your domain/url main wp blog.

All in one seo is good, but even better is Headspace 2. I don't see it mentioned much but it is more powerful than all in one seo IMHO

Simple tags is also good, as is tags to technorati.

Oh and grab rss footer if you're submitting your rss feed everywhere, it's awesome!

Ok il pass on a few.

This isnt a plugin but a good pinglist is very important to getting fast indexing.
Defult site in your blog pinglist would currently be ping-o-matic.com

Here is a list of top sites that you can copy and paste to your pinglist. So its not only letting one site know about your blog post, its letting every important site know.

Its good to limit your pinging to once a day. Download MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer plugin from http://www.maxblogpress.com/plugins/mpo/ go to Settings then select the ping optimizer to edit pinglist and set the auto ping to once every 1200 mins.

But I can't seem where to find to adjust to 1200 minutes??

I loaded up all the ping direcctories. This is awesome a good improvement to my blog and its not even noon. Thanks!

Hi Jason,

I have a whole wordpress setup guide with step-by-step instructions for my staff to follow whenever they setup a wordpress blog. But that's in the office and its 1.30am over at my side now. I'll share it later.

But in general these are the plugins which I've found very useful in additional to those mentioned above.

1) Changing Permalinks

Ok permalinks aren't plugins but I believe its a mustdo step if its not done yet. Change the permalinks under settings to custom and fill it with /%postname%/

By default this will change every post url to that of the title rather than the default wordpress settings. Going a step further, whenever you make a post, its good to edit the page slug to that of the keyword rather than the title.

2) All-in-one-SEO

As recommended by the rest above.

3) Autosocialposter (paid plugin)

Its a plugin that auto socialbookmarks your posts/pages across various social bookmarking accounts in a random fashion. Good for extra link juice. But if you want a free option, you can try out the Onlywire Social Bookmarking Plugin. You can find it at OnlyWire Social Bookmarking Plugin

4) Using trackbacks

Ok not many people use this and I actually think of it as a lil secret of mine. Trackbacks while are mainly nofollow still help for deep linking purposes. At least for yahoo and msn, and for google. I believe a healthy dose of nofollow and dofollow backlinks are good.

Whenever we make a post, we link to 3 other blogs in the related industry that allow trackbacks. (needa search a couple out first). Alternatively you can try using this the pingcrawl plugin which does this at Blue Hat SEO-Advanced SEO Tactics (but i haven't tried it out yet though)

5) Related Post Plugin

Besides providing related content to the readers (not that I bother with that alot). I use it more for a better internal website linkstructure. After all thats one of the reasons we use WP over a static website.

6) Google XML Sitemap Generator (Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress)

Wordpress is wonderful at getting indexed after it pings. But there's no harm in helping google along by adding this.

7) Add Sig (Add Signature Plugin for WordPress Dagon Design)

Adds a signature to the end of every post. I usually put in a call to action link here or code in an optin box. Works great because you never know which page your visitor is landing on. Probably for your nephew it can be a call to action to check out the musical timings or make a ticket book etc..

No worries CashDoc, under where you posted the ping list, there should be a little box that you tick that says "Limit excessive pinging in short time". An option to set the ping interval time appears.
