Going toe to toe with the big guys

Hi, my site is still in the process of being built and is under its testing phases, my target is to go toe to toe with a major player in the niche market but I am looking for other strategies to take a piece of that market share. I am new to this forum and I am not sure If I can post my web URL here but the name of my site is "Price Informant dot com".

    Well what I would add is simple out-cool them. Provide better quailty information.Interviews, webinars, teleseminars, lead magnets stuff like that.

      Beating the big boys is sometimes easy... Especially if your are in a tighter niche than they are...

      If you are trying to be everything to everyone, then you will find your challenge daunting...

      In your list above, you have covered features...

      What are the benefits for the user of your website?

      Your description of why someone would want to come back to your website should be told to the world in terms that your target users can appreciate, in other words, why it is important to them... After all, everyone is only interested in one thing: WIIIFM, What Is In It For Me?

    JPastor- don't give up! I've competed with big sites like Amazon, ABCNews and Answers.com for certain keywords- and CLOBBERED them! Several of my sites outrank them and steal their traffic. Wanna know why? Because I provided the visitor with information that was more VALUABLE than what the authority site had to offer. You can do it. Keep in mind what others say about providing unique content...and you can also rank higher by building strong backlinks. Just because someone has a #1 ranking position, or generally gets a lot more visitors than you, DOESN'T mean that their site is what the visitor is looking for. Good luck.
